    Holes in your Gums?

Quick question. Does anyone know any remedies that heal up holes (the things you get when you accidently poke something sharp on your gums like toothbrushes and a little hole opens up) to close it up quicker. I accidently got three holes from brushing to hard (?). Any ideas on how to heal it quicker?

    Nope... Stay away from sweets.
    Use a non-alcohoic mouth rinse (like Pro-health)
Make sure you eat enough (your gums are the first to go when you don't eat enough)

I would assume that drinking anything acidic (orange juice, wine, etc) would be a no-no.

Your gums and tongue heal extremely quick. I'd say no more then a few days.

Indeed. I had tongue surgery which was one of THE MOST painful things in the world. In about a day or two I was back to eating solids... As you can imagine having stitches in your tongue is incredibly painful.

Ok seeing how I'm a HowardForum's doctor the best (free) advice I can give you is firstly Avoid Aspirin as this thins the blood and makes your mouth bleed. Secondly you should gently rinse with warm salt water (1 teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water).
If the bleeding is more severe you might want to take a clean gauze pad and fold it into a pad, thick enough to bite on, then moisten it and place it directly on the perforated gum site. Hold the gauze firmly in place, by biting down on the pad or using finger pressure, for about half an hour to an hour. If this doesn't stop the bleeding, moisten a tea bag with water and fold it in half and bite down on it for several minutes (the tannic acid in black tea helps stop bleeding)

Oh kanker sores. . . Those go away fast, just dont touch it with your toung or pick at it with your fingers. Did your tooth brush have a rubbery back? Or a squared tip?

if its kanker sores like my gf, hers last a week atleast.. and she gets them often... but what she has been doing lately and it seems to work. get a spice called alum you can get it at any super market in the spices section.. its in powder form..

for each canker sore apply a bit of alum and hold it there for about 5-10 secs for each alum.. it will hurt like a mofo for thos 5-10 secs.. but the next day it would almost heal or you would see a big improvement.

I poke my self with the tooth brush when I'm too lazy to brush but can't stand the feeling of not brushing before sleep, so I do a quicky where I brush really fast.

    That's how it happened.

She needs more Folic Acid in her diet. Or you can buy Folic Acid supplements at the drug store. Her mouth ulcers will disappear once she starts taking these regularly...

If I brushed 2 minutes in the morning, I'd be a minute and a half late for work.
