I'd go with the Tocco until android/T-mo get all the kinks worked out. That way you can also keep your grandfathered VPN Total internet. There is conflicting information regarding G1 data plan use in other devices.

I wanted to get G1, but some essential functions are missing, that I wouldn't get this phone this time, espcially it claims an all-in-one device, but I found some essential functions are missing
USB connection manager (phone/PAM or mass storage)
bluetooth profile (DUN, PAN, OBEX, A2DP, COM)
streaming support (esp realaudio and shoutcast)
Adobe Flash
task manager
working email client
sync with Outlook
now Samsung Behold/Tocco is about to be released in 2 weeks, and I am interested to get it, should I?
I don't mind it's regular phone as long as PAM is supported, that I can use PDA to do the job (HP211 or N800)
note: this phone will be the final T-Mobile branding phone with contract renewal, hopefully I'll see unlocked 3G phones with WCDMA IV next year, and stay OOC forever after the contract

People are having issues using the G1 data plan with other devices. Hold on to your Total internet VPN, if i was you:
