G1 at Walmart Cheaper than at T-Mobile!

Engadget is reporting this morning that the G1 is on it’s way to Walmart and at a price lower than T-mobile directly is offering. Walmart, king of the odd price is said to be selling the G1 at $148.88, a full $31.11 savings, or the cost of a tank of gas for me to get to my nearest Walmart.

Engadget’s tipster is claiming that the top 10 stores in each regional Walmart market will receive inventory by the 24th of November, just in time for the start of the holiday season. So the bottom line is you have about a month to decide whether or not waiting for a Walmart savings is just what you wanted for the holiday’s!

not a big suprise. If they can push a lot of sales and new subs through walmart, they are willing to drop the price a bit I am sure.

plus this isn't the iPhone and isn't controlled by Apple. On most phones in the industry, the price gradually drops. most of us who have it now and love it would have gladly paid $30 more for the phone.

Too bad Wal-Mart won't let you just buy the phone without signing up. :P

I can get the phone for 100 on 2 year contract, but for upgrades, IDK. I would have to ask my friend about that.

Not surprised about that price @ walmart. But will it be all walmarts that sell t-mobile or just in 3g areas?
