Everytime I come on to check the forum out all I see is negative posts about problems, is anyone having a flawless experience with the phone? No problems and loving it??

this is true, just kind of depressing to love something so much and have ppl pick it apart! I know the phone is not flawless just would be nice to see a little praise.Originally Posted by jdlorinser
Same here. Why would you post how satisfied you are anyway, no? I come to this forum whenever something isn't working and looking for an answer - much the same way most people who visit the WM and other phone OS parts of HF.
again I agree, its just all these small problems are starting to pile up and are making me doubt my purchase.Originally Posted by nikolasp
yup. People who like the phone are too busy using it to come here and post that they like the phone...Originally Posted by jdlorinser
I love it, and the possibilities it holds.
Personally I think a lot of the complainers have ADD, and will never
ever be happy with anything.
They seem to forget that the original iPhone had no GPS and no Msexchange.
And lots of bugs.
My phone has great reception, and is extremely stable, and an excellent webbrowser.
I'm very happy.
im enjoying the phone.
everytime new apps come out its like a whole slew of new features being unlocked, its pretty geeky exciting
I love it..and agree that some people will just never be happy. Don't let the naysayers get you down. They've probably complained about every phone they've ever had.
What I love more is how people complain about features and functions of free software, like developers owe them something.
OO dont get me wrong I get "geeky excited" as well I love the device, heck I may be one of a few that loves the way it looks as well, but i do have ADD when it comes to phone I have been thru 7 phones in the last 6months! Im looking for a home and I feel like the g1 is it...just wana make sure it has a stable foundation and room to growOriginally Posted by Blakthorn
If you are looking for something stable right off the bat then I think you should wait a bit. The G1/Android combo has room to grow, especially the Android OS. There isn't really anything wrong with the actual phone, not even its looks. Its sliding keyboard is one of the reasons I enjoy the device. Such things as on-screen keyboard, file manager, etc., etc. most depend on the OS, which will improve as we go along. You may then wait a bit, either for some things to get ironed out (no need to mention all the different apps that have been created to make WM the OS it should have been) or for a new device sporting Android comes out that has more phone features plus a newer release of the OS.

The G1 has a lot of positive things going on for it, but it is a first generation phone. I believe it was rushed to stop some of the iPhone churn bleeding. If we could have had the Wing II or Dash II out by this date, then I believe the G1 would have come out later as an even more complete phone. The G2 will probably be even more impressive. As far as current phones go, the G1 is still a very good phone. I really like the touch screen look and response. The phones speed is excellent, and I believe you will see some of the best available apps for this phone.
people don't really post the positives. What are you gonna say? "oh it's great, I love it, kbye"
There really is no point making 100 threads on how good the G1 is, people will just reply with..."ok, so what?"
Though, you will see every thread of every problem the G1 has, in some cases you will see MULTIPLE threads of the same problem because people fail to search or just don't think they'll get the same attention if they don't make a new thread.
My take on the phone: it has a nice interface and is very stable. Most everything works just fine, and it has less quirks than any other phone I've ever had. I really like the formfactor, the multiple input devices, and the web browser is among the best I've used on a phone. Needs Flash support, tho, quickly.Originally Posted by mystagweb212
Battery life is short, but not as bad as what some folks are saying.
The OS is somewhat incomplete. For example, the Bluetooth stack is just really for headsets and the like, nothing else.
All in all, this is about as good as a Version 1.0 phone with a Version 1.0 OS gets. I consider it to be more usable than my Nokia E61 ever was, and substantially more stable to boot. It doesn't annoy me like Blackberries and WM devices do.
I like it, and I hope that Google's deep pockets ensure that they'll keep on adding and improving.
My $.02.
