The Official BlackBerry Storm 9530 Pre-Release Thread 3 (Off Topic Posts=1 Day Ban)
This is now the 3rd Pre- Release Thread for the Upcoming Blackberry Storm 9530. This should make it easier for newcomers to get all of the valid information without having to read through speculation and billing questions. Again, billing, and sales questions...please leave that for another thread.

4. EVDO Rev A/HSDPA Rhapsody Support
5. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera

8. More updates will be available to VZW employees each Wednesday
Just wanted to give an update. The Storm is now set to launch in stores on the 15th & BestBuy on the 16th. The Corporate stores will still be opening 1 hour early for the first week. Still cannot find any info on price. Also here is a screen shot of all the accessories and sku's that will be available for the Storm at launch. The cradle will NOT be included in the box. Also the firmware is not final which is what caused the delay.
Anything else that has been confirmed that I haven't mentioned, please feel free to add.

-I don't know who u are, I don't know what u want. If u are looking for a ransom, I can tell u I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills that I have acquired over the course of watching Chuck Norris in Walker, Texas Ranger, skills that make me a nightmare for people like u.
Any off topic posts in this thread will get your post deleted and a 1 day ban issued. This includes questions about data plans, international roaming/calling rates, whether or not the phone has WIFI (Confirmed not to), will VZW let me upgrade early, etc. Discuss the Storm only here!
Keep all PHONE discussion within the Verizon Phone Discussion sub forum. We will close/move threads without notice if you do not follow the the VZW forum rules. Report inappropriate posts by clicking on the red triangle in the upper right hand corner of any post, or the orange triangle in the bottom left for Premium members.
Recieved this at 3:21 p.m. CST today. The funny thing is that on 10/17 they emailed me stating that they had to change the venue due to the overwhelming response to appropriately accomodate. Well guess what. The venue didnt change, the duration of the event did not change. The only thing that did change is the date.
Due to overwhelming response the date has changed to November 12th.

The storm looks like an amazing phone. I hope Verizon floods the market with these and doesnt make them scare, Im worried that I wont be able to get one because they'll be out of stock! Also does the storm have visual voicemail, and will it support Verizons new city id caller id system?

I wonder if the event scheduled for today in Omaha, NE got moved also.
Can anyone give some insight on this since the other thread was closed/locked? It has to do with the durability/strength of the Storm in less than ideal conditions.

It hasn't been released yet. Only a lucky few have gotten their hands on it (media, employees, etc.) so it obviously has not been tested in the conditions you describe. It still hasn't been confirmed what material the screen is made of (at least I haven't seen it confirmed).
spoke to a store manager today regarding release, he stated that word is VZW is aiming for a 16-20 launch, but said it could be as late as black friday, but def not after that.. black friday would be miserable

If you would have read #6 in the very first post of this thread you would have seen visual voicemail is confirmed. No word on city id yet. Crappy program if you ask me though. Not very accurate in the 30 day trial I used.

Is there a reason it says Storm visual voicemail is available "post-launch"? Are they revamping it? I don't remember this being specifically covered in the 10,000 other posts.
It's currently for the LG Voyager etc on Verizon. I never heard much about it on Verizon, but it sounds like a great idea. iPhone/AT&T users seem pretty happy with their implementation of it.
