I had never seen that trade in deal before. They may regret not having a cap on it when I am done. I have dozens of phones I could send in that I have no use for. Now if I can find someone to buy dummy phones, I will be set. Probably have over 100 of them.
some people have mentioned that the $200 price is only for new nationwide plans...that includes adding a line to a family plan right?
Yes, you just need to add the blackberry data plan of $30 a month if you don't already have it. If you already have the family plan, you are ok. I spoke with a VZW rep earlier on the phone and I was informed of this because this I, too, am also on a family plan. He ensured me that I would only need to add on the $30/ month BB plan to my family plan for my line.

One Storm will do me fine, wife still using my hand me down LG 8300 and is happy with it. Going to be my Christmas bonus to myself this year. Never really considered getting a Blackberry before but not in office all the time now thanks to some rearranging of my business so will be nice to have email/web all the time. And of course I get the service for little of nothing (I am an indirect agent), so why not.

I hope my local Best Buy Mobile rep was wrong then. She said that upgrades usually are about $40 more than new activations, for example the At&t Bold. I will call tomorrow and ask someone else, if it's 199.99 out the door I will definitely get it there instead of the verizon store.
Btw- The "With a 2 year agreement and nationwide email plan" part in the fine print, is that just them saying that because that's the plans they offer now, or is it confirmation that you need to have a nationwide plan to get the phone? Thanks!
I posted this before, but I not sure if it was overlooked, but I'm really considering getting the Storm. One question I still have is...
Does Verizon still give out the unlock code so that the phone is free to take other company's SIM cards (Oversea's use)? I know you need to own the phone for some time first, but I'm curious if they still give out the unlock codes.
hey guys sorry about the slightly off topic post, but the storm has got me really jazzed and i felt like i had to ask.
First off this is what im thinking
$250 - $50 (MIR) - $50 (VIP) - $150 (voyager trade in to BB site with graduate code) = ?Free? (I know i get cash for the voyager, but i mean free in the sense as not haveing to dish out more money)
Im concerned about two things though.
The first has already been asked but, i dont think has been answered
1. how does the trade in program work? am i going to have to buy the blackberry off there website (there by forfeiting my MIR and VIP benefit), or buy the storm from Verizon first then send in the voyager and proof of purchase for the storm (there for paying up front then being refunded, like the MIR)
2. Secondly im a secondary line, so will the VIP benefit apply?
I understand this isnt what this thread is about exactly, but it would really help me out, since i know howardforums has helped me out plenty in the past.

2. Go to the Blackberry Trade up website (google it) and get a quote for your device and then follow the instructions, quite easy really.

Yeah, I know they usually charge more for upgrades as opposed to new acitvations, unlike VZW stores that charge the same 2 year pricing for both.
When I was on the phone with the rep, she told me $199 for the 2 year price. When I asked her how much for an eligible upgrade, she said she didn't know (as if she knows that the prices normally differ), and I heard her ask another rep, who told her it was the same for the Storm.
Maybe they are doing this special for the Storm, since they know that if they are charging more than VZW for this phone, they will loose the business?
Or, they screwed up, and the upgrade price is more expensive, which shouldnt be a problem anyway, since they told me they could price match my NE2 to VZW. So I cant see them not matching the upgrade price as well.
