i searched but didn't see anything on this. on the curve, someone posted the skew # and a lot of people were able to order it online a week early...including me. has anyone heard anything about what the skew is on the storm?
I know my post isn't helping, but really is this thread serving a purpose anymore?
It is serving a very relevant purpose. The purpose is to keep 1000 threads out of the main VZW forum or the blackberry forum which is why, in the 1st post, it states keep all blackberry storm pre-release information in this thread. Sure, it is a huge waste of bandwidth but Moderators would not ban all BB Storm threads until the phone is released either. The topic is the BB Storm so if you post something pertaining to it then that post is essentially relevant no matter how many times it has been answered in previous posts because users fail to search or read. It has been cleaned up 2 times already; doubt it will be done again with a week remaining until the release. This always happens, Moderators will most likely let this thread run its course, banning all users for off-topic posts, and when Friday comes there will be an Official Release thread and this one will be locked and fade into the archives. Some may not see it relevant but if every post on a forum was factual information and relevant to the topic at hand there would be far less posts and far less users; at least by controlling the forum this way, you take the good with the bad, the relevant and irrelevant posts will go in here and as always check page 1, post 1 for the most relevant and factual information.

I received the VIP card also and called CS last evening. I was put on a call-back list as the CS agent expected that Verizon would shortly allow pre-ordering so the transaction could be completed prior to the 21st and my device would ship out overnight without another phone call. He was very pleasant and seemed to want to get me the phone right away rather than having to wait to the 21st.
I finally decided to stick with RIM rather than get the XV6850 TP. I hope this thing is as good as advertised...

I think the system has to show a valid price too and from what I've been hearing it's still not showing, so no orders yet.
I went by BestBuy and paid my $50.00 reservation fee for the Storm at about 11:00AM this morning. The clerk didn't know about the Nov 21 release date. Anyway I told him about that and referred him to VZW's web site. The $50.00 is refundable if you don't take the phone. A friend just called 2:30PM and said BestBuy had quit taking reservations. I don't know if this applies to all Best Buy stores or just my local store in Paducah, KY.
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I talked to my local contact @ Verizon, and she said that I could come in on Wed next week and order the phone from her and it would be delivered to me on Friday the 21st. Of course she then said I could come in and activiated and they setup my email. I don't know why she told me that but I guess I'll find out.
Yea but with the iPhone you can have just upgraded and they let you sign a new contract and get the iphone price, regardless of when your real upgrade is. At least thats how it was when I bought the original iPhone long time ago.
...because the first iPhone wasn't carrier subsidized at all. The new one is, so no more early upgrades. There's no reason to make you wait if you aren't getting a discount. You're free to buy the Storm at an unsubsidized price if you want to.

Still no word of the retail price? I to went into Best Buy and reserved mine, I haven't heard of anyone not taking anymore reservations though. Must just be in KY.
for the best buy guys pre-ordering the phone. I just got a conformation call to set up an appt. for the 21st, and the cost out the door $199 (no rebate) .
