for the best buy guys pre-ordering the phone. I just got a conformation call to set up an appt. for the 21st, and the cost out the door $199 (no rebate) .
Also the free plantronics 360 headset
The question is...will they honor Verizon credit?
NM: Called a few BB stores. They do in fact get rid of the MIR...so $199.99 out the door. However, they do not accept Verizon credit.
Also should be noted that I called three large stores around me and as of today they stopped taking preorders...
At our store if you're getting a new line or upgrading we usually hook you up with whatever discounts Verizon has. I don't know how the other stores are though. I know our manager is pretty nice is going to be taking 50 off phones that are bought at retail.
In the emulator BB maps has an option to "search for satellites" and under the camera you can enable geotagging
Do we know if that will work for the Verizon one? I saw the 50 messages about unlocked GPS and all that, but nothing pertaining to what specific apps will talk to it properly. I don't know if the geotagging uses GPS, aGPS or whatever.....
ok i was on the phone this am with a local store and i think we can anticipate more confusion. the rep claimed the 199 price was after $70 mir, meaning the instore price was $269.99... Obviously they have a little more work to do on the info side...
I have seen Verizon online have different prices than retail stores.... right? Does it matter if $269 - $70 is the same as $249 - $50? They both end up at $199.
I just got to play with the STORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My local Verizon has a demo unit. It is running 4.7.0.61. I think that's the beta version. It did not have Blackberry maps installed. The lag in screen rotation was not bad at all. The OS was very responsive. It took me about 5 seconds flat to get use to the keyboard (screen). It felt solid, much heavier than my curve. I like a phone with some weight to it. The browser was snappy, i loaded the Verizon home page in under 5 sec. I like when you push in on the screen it zooms. The screen is glass. The click from pressing the screen is really faint to hear. It's more you feel it.Over all this phone is AMAZING!!!!!!I'm sorry this is all jumbled together but im driving home from work typing on my laptop.....

because thats really safe, lol. Nonetheless, congrats on getting to play with the phone. I can't wait to pick mine up a week from today!
suggest everyone purchasing the phone and plans on using it for media purchases one of these for much cheaper before you get sucked in spending $100 for them retail
I don't understand the point of anyone ordering anything online.....It removes any possibility of you swindling some free stuff or getting the product cheaper. Sure online might be quicker but speaking to someone is just as easy.
