^^^ good deal... we sold only 11 pre-orders and were told to only expect enough phones to fulfill the pre-sales only. Orders will be arriving on Friday the 21st and Saturday the 22nd. The next shipment is early the following week. Now I am not sure if this is for every BBYM or not but this was the system status message in ETK (employee tool kit) direct from corporate. Again I hope this is just speculation on their part (but I doubt it) because I open launch day and I am going to have a line of people there for their phones and our drop shipments don't usually arrive until later in the afternoon, so I will have to deal with a bunch of upset customers wanting their phones that aren't there. I am hoping they treat the shipments like the Bolds and G1s and ship them 2-4 days early. Who knows... but we shall find out shortly.

So I went to the local Corp. VZW store to pay my bill tonight. I asked about the Storm & since I'm not able to upgrade yet, if I could just pay the ETF. the woman said sure you can do that & sign a new contract.......but....you can't port your current # back in, you'd have to get a new #. I'm like since I've had my Scottsdale AZ cell # since '03, that I originally got from AT&T. A LOT of people know my #, & I don't really want to change it . a Northern MN 218 # (where I live now) is just sooo boring sounding. I also asked if they are opening up early on the 21st and she said No

Port over to att...which cancels your current vzw line...pay etf...get the Storm and port att number back...you are set. extra steps, but you get to keep your number and the whole week of the Storm launch will open an hr early...she don't know what she talking about
Cheap TPU cases. Thunderbolt, MT4G, Nexus S (4G) Droid X/X2, DInc 2/S, HTC Sensation, Samsung Infuse, EVO 3D, SGSII

Hmmmmm............that's a thought too. I got this off of AT&T's site:
30-DAY CANCELLATION PERIOD/TERMINATION
You may terminate this Agreement within thirty (30) days after activating service without paying an Early Termination Fee. You will pay for service fees and charges incurred through the termination date, but AT&T will refund your activation fee, if any, if you terminate within three (3) days of activating the service. Also, you may have to return any handsets and accessories purchased with this Agreement.
so I'd only have to pay 1 ETF, & what ever charges were incurred from using AT&T, the rest would be refunded.
I talked to a CSR today. 1 year pricing 269.99. Full Retail is $599. Supposively that is. Sounds pretty accurate. $599 is a hell of a lot for full retail but expected.
Is that 1 yr price pre or post mir? Because if it's pre, it's far too close to the 2yr new contract pre-mir price to be credible. to me at least.

Just add a second line for 9.99 per month> then have them switch the numbers on the handsets. 9.99 per month until contract is up is cheaper than most etf fees

$9.99/month for 1 yr. $120 plus taxes...etf is $175 prorated to however many months left on contract...probably would end up being about the same...guess its personal preference/hassle about what to do...
I also believe that this is the first device ever from vzw to do this with its native gps.
As dumb as this sounds, the geotagging is likely what has put me into the sold category. I'll take the downfall of a less then capable video recording resolution for all the rest the phone offers.

IF $599 is accurate on retail (unlikely though because the Dare started at $250 with a $50 rebate and I think it was $419 or $519 retail, someone can correct me), then its cheaper for in contract people to just add phone to a second line, swap phones for a day, terminate the line, and pay the ETF.
played with 3 units all of which had different software, the last one and most up to date was sweet, tried to post on hofo but wouldnt load all of the way.
tried via my curve and similar results so it wasnt the unit.
gps locked on almost immediately! bbmaps works as well YES!!!
what I was able to load on hofo looked great, engadget as well cant wait for the final software release.
