So, the reality is now we know the phone will be out in the next week, people are thinking about how to purchase it and which options are best for them individually. It is still Storm related.

I was one posting, not many days ago, encouraging people to use the search features because so many questions and comments were being repeatedly posted. I quickly threw out that idea as no-one gave it much consideration. So, I've come to the conclusion that for the next week this thread will meander. Come the 21st, we will likely have a Storm sub-forum with individual threads for just about every topic. For now, we can continue to be judgemental of each others posts or just except that there is much enthusiasm and this thread is the most monitored thereby making it the thread providing the highest likelihood of getting an informed response.

It is Saturday and if we are focused on a new tech toy like the Storm, life must be pretty good. Try to enjoy it rather than get your panties in a bunch over what other people post trying to make decisions and share their enthusiasm.
It's amazing the there's a sentence in your first paragraph saying that other threads have been created to discuss NE2 and pricing, yet you continue to justify posting that in this thread.

Seems like an oxymoron to me.

Either way, I don't see why Verizon won't accommodate those switching from a phone to the Blackberry Storm the day of purchase.
I agree, but remember its a service like valet parking you can be lazy and have it done for you or you can do it yourself.

personally I will offer it for free if their screen is broken. to the reps it make zero difference either way as they do NOT get compensated.
remember its a service. convienace can cost money. vip customers get it waived. if you dont like the fee dont use the service and if you do dont complain.

Not pleasure but personal here. I have a Dare currently after going thru several phones over the past couple years. I've noticed a subtle 'dumbing' down of the dumbphones. Features that were important to me, like extended contact info (addresses, dates, notes) starting to disappear. Group functionality being reduced (Dare only allows 10 contacts per group). Email clients not allowing url clicking, attachment viewing / dling (even pics).

So for me, I think its time to leave my cellphone adolescence and move to a pda. I can sorta see some kid not needing to save their bff's address in a phone. But I need the features they're starting to leave out of 'feature' phones. The Storm appeals to me because while its a Blackberry, capable of enterprise level communications, it also seems targetted more towards the casual cellphone user as well. If VZ simply let me keep my NW premium plan it'd be perfect since the only pop email I really have is my ISP's so don't really need BIS (seeing how NW Premium plans already have 'unlimited' data). But if its part of the price I have to pay to get ALL the functions I want and need, then I'll pay it.

When i bought a Curve (at a Verizon corp store) they transfered EVERYTHING from my Treo650 for free. It even transfered pictures and ringtones. I didn't even ask them, before i had a chance the sales rep offered to do it. It took maybe 2 minutes.

Will wait till 9am before heading to the Center City VZ corp stores. That's only 2 hrs earlier than I leave for work normally and they're both on my normal route to work. I figure most corp ppl will aim for the 7 am slot to make work on time so by 9 things should be calming down. If the lines are too long (ie, there is still a line), I'll go on to work and head to the VZ store in Quartermaster's Plaza in South Philly. It's less conspicuous than the other 2 (and strangely bigger) so it'll prolly be better there.

Be with Verizon for 12+ months and have been on a $79.99 or higher base calling plan for at least the past 6 months I believe.

not your total bill, your primary line must be 79.99+ and not including bolt-ons

are you on a 900 select or an 1350 ppl? perfect pay history ie not late on vzw terms not yours, look at your main or primary line plan amount does it say 79.99 or more?

I believe its regional only as well as someone here stated earlier.
