My wife is on the VIP program and we live in Alabama. So the program covers more than the Northeast....

I know on the VIP page it lists states that are participating in the VIP program but I'm in California and I'm in the VIP program. So I don't think there's any limitations anymore other than the the amount of your monthly bill.

Its not just the Northeast. I work in a Midwest call center and VIP is offered. You cannot call VZW to be a VIP - they will contact you. There's no codes we just add to make you a VIP.
I am no longer an employee of VZW, I left on good terms and still think VZW is the best network in the U.S. and most helpful CSR's in any industry.

    God Bless our U.S. Military.

They also said they have no plans as of now to open early on Friday but did tell me the store on Michigan Ave will have the most units available and will be the first store to open in Chicago.
Interesting... I was one of the first people to get the Curve when it came out for Verizon and I'm now anxiously awaiting the Storm... however if there are going to be upgrades and all that... and possibly a "storm 2"? It might be smart for me to wait until my NE2 is available in 2010 to get the storm/storm2. That sucks cuz I always like having the latest and greatest but it will all come down to money and if it's too expensive... it's just one of those...

So basically it's comforting to read that there might me a bunch of upgrades and all that right away. Maybe I'll hold off until they get whatever "bugs" worked out. I'm glad to see that VZW is finally getting new BB's before ATT tho

sounds like just about everyone is a "VIP" member... doesn't that defeat the purpose of labeling it "VIP"

think of it as a centurion american express card for vzw, they will contact you.

This is wrong, and has been confirmed by VZW employees. If you pay the ETF, you can keep the phone. If you use their "worry free guarantee" to cancel the line, you have to return the phone. The ETF has nothing to do with the phone at all, only the line. If I cancel my account a year into the contract and pay the ETF, do you think they are going to try to charge me full retail price for whatever phone I have? As long as you pay the ETF, they cannot collect the phone. Doesn't matter whether it has been one day or a year.

Yeah, I was misinformed. A VZW employee told me in another thread.

    Hey,

Does anyone know how many units of the storm each store is getting? Do you think they will be sold out of storms by Saturday (11/22) or Sunday (11/23) .. because I might have to wait until then or the 26th to get one....so I'm just wondering...

    Thanks :]
