Man, the 21st. I just signed up with Verizon waiting for THIS phone. I don't understand, why they would wait this long unitl releasing the street date. I got a phone on the 23rd, knowing I would exchange for the storm. However as it got closer and closer to my 30 day window, I couldn't wait any longer. I returned the phone, cancelled my verizon account and now have an ATT Fuze. Oh well. Not really my loss I suppose, but it is/was frustrating. But it is a good reminder why I left Verizon a few years back. Hope this thing lives up to all the hype for those who are getting it.
I'm not a Mac user, but I know many who are. Does this mean it will not sync with a Mac (calendar, contacts, etc.)? I am thinking about possibly switching from PC to Mac for my home puter and this would become important. I would probably import my Windows Office 2007 into the new Mac but other Mac users I know use Mac software. So, what can the Storm do with Mac as opposed to PC?

My jaw just dropped immensely with what I just got in the mail. I just used my NE2 in June (wasn't available until this month) for the Dare, and Verizon just sent this). Granted, its not using my NE2 again, but letting me upgrade because I'm not terribly happy with the useless support of the Dare by Verizon is good enough.
Sorry about the semi-poor quality. My hands aren't being stable today for some reason (probably due to med I'm taking for now) so this was the best out of a few I've tried to take. The other half to the second image had my address and last 4 of number eligible (which is mine), but didn't want to exactly share that with the world
It does say though to bring the flier to get the "deal" so I'll definitely be doing so when the day arrives. I don't recall this specific one being posted, just the VIP one. This is kind of VIP'ish, but better I would say
I posted this in the Crackberry forums too, but I'll say here as well. There is quite a few people stating that they too received this flier (at Crackberry) and I was very unhappy to say the least that I am in almost the exact same contract dates and situation; my monthly bill is just under $200/month, and I did NOT receive this flier. I called the VIP number (I am a VIP) and asked about this. The number I called (posted on the same thread at Crackberry) was not for my region and the person there transferred me to the mid-west region. I was connected to Ann(e?) in the marketing/sales department and we discussed this flier for over 20 minutes.
She asked me if I had a copy I could fax to her and I said no, because I didn't receive one. She was VERY adamant that there is NO SUCH FLIER that has EVER been sent out by Verizon Wireless and that it's a very cleaver scam. Her department has the sole responsibility for ALL mailings and promotional offers sent/offered for Verizon for the whole mid-west region. I pressed the issue for several minutes, described the flier in detail, said that it contained accurate information for those that received it (name, address, last 4 of #) and she wasn't buying it at all.
She said there was NO way early upgrades were being offered to any customers (unless of course it was for a specific case like several bad phones), especially on a large scale like this and definitely not for a phone with sell out expectations like the Storm. She said many scams came out just like this with the Voyager release as well. She said that if customers did receive some kind of flier and brought it into their store, the eligibility for upgrade would be verified in the system and if it they weren't eligible (regardless of what the flier says) they would NOT get any early upgrade pricing.
She sounded very knowledgeable and didn't at all sound like she was just trying to put me off or make stuff up, etc. I asked what Verizon would be willing to do to keep me as a customer if I wanted the Storm but would NOT pay full retail for it. She said "nothing." They don't want to lose me, but will not make those concessions for this phone.
My hope is that I will in fact get this flier sent to me and that will at least give me some leverage to argue with should I go into the store and they tell me otherwise.
Please, no flaming. I'm NOT accusing ANYONE of anything. I'm just passing on what I've been told. I guess we'll all know for sure next week sometime.

Were so happy for and a great piece .. you got! Enjoy
Anywho not a bad deal for full retail. I hope that the mac tethering thing changes!!! I use it all of the time.
So my billing cycle starts on the 3rd of each month. If I were to go get the phone on the 21st, how would they bill me? Prorate? Or is that a thing of the past?

Do you want the junkmail or a storm?
First off the thing says coming soon for the Storm, so unless you want a pearl, Env, or voyager, it's nothing you'd be interested in.
If you want/need a Storm that bad, get a new line on your plan for $9.99 a month, activate the Storm and switch #'s, put the dumbphone on your new line...
Otherwise, if your a VIP, like most every BB account on vzw is, wait until your 10 months is up and upgrade...not flaming, this has just been said 5 zillion times over the past couple of weeks..BTW, I also am a VIP, I also got no flyer.no big, i'll have a Storm waiting for me bright and early Friday..
I'm hoping this puts everything in perspective for anyone that wants to buy it, switch lines and cancel...From CB:

Then if you don't return the storm, you will have to pay the activation fee of $35 and the early termination fee of $175.00.
$249.99 + $35 + $175 = $459.99. That's before even paying any of the service fees or taxes for the period you have the active line.
The full-retail cost of the Storm is $499.99 (I looked it up).
Is saving at most $40 worth the trouble to you?
I would just pay the full-retail cost and put it on my existing line and be done with it if it were me.

yup, i did the math and realized that its not worth it either. people aren't taking into consideration the fees and charges that will be incurred with the new line. and besides, at least you get get the $50 rebate off retail, no? so that lessens the blow, be it a very little.

Sorry for upsetting the apple cart! First, I don't NEED a Storm at all and am not even sure I want one until I check it out first hand. I know I can add a line and switch my numbers around; that's nothing new. Being a VIP is just getting a nice perk or two; nothing earth shattering either.
My only question is what EXACTLY "eligible for early upgrade" means and why some customers are receiving and others, who appear to be in the same category of plan/contract dates, etc. are not receiving it. I have never gotten ANY junk mail from Verizon at all so if a flier came in the mail, I'd be sure to take notice of it at least.

Err... WTF? Now this is aggravating if true. I've been thru 5 Dare's now and would think that'd qualify under a 'several bad phones'. They've acknowledge that sending me a new Dare would be pointless since I'd likely be on the phone with them about the bluetooth disconnecting / freaking out within a month.
*deep breath* ok, i'm better now Honestly, I don't think there is any early option on this phone. Unless people are neglecting to provide a crucial piece of info about their accounts, the VIP flyers seem too inconsistent for VZ to risk a backlash from providing Storms early.
Also I've heard no mention of any corporations being offered early devices, which would actually make more sense than any individual account holder. Sure, Joe Smith may be a valued customer since 2000 having paid his $79 per month bill faithfully from the start. But financially it'd make far more sense to offer Smith Inc a batch of early devices since they've been a VZ customer since 2000 and have paid their $10,000 / month bill on time faithfully for the 100 pdas they provided their employees.

No need to get your knickers knotted.
No knicker knottin here, this is old news so I gave you the options available to you as a VIP,,,nothin left to discuss, a VIP can upgrade every 10 months...
Okay so the details are $599. This is what I've been told and others. $369 is not it, that's a joke. So lets just stick with that. But I'm 98% sure that's the final price.
Okay I really dont care about the retail price because Im getting discounts just thought I would post what I was told and obviously theres someone else who was told 369 as well so.....But I guess for you richie rich people 369 would make this phone a little un-exclusive because thats not that much being that I paid 420 retail about a year ago for the Q9m! But I can say that 599 does sound like a price verizon would attach to this phone.
