as i mentioned i played w/three devices all different software
the latest software has little if any lag, and i consider to be pretty critical about crap like that, ie i think that the venus is painfully slow, so use for contrast.
I saw someone at my restaurant with .65 today for Verizon. I used .53 a few weeks ago and it was really glitchy. Then I used .61 which was much better. I should've asked him if I could use it but I asked if he could show me which version it was. He also had a Curve with him haha. Rockin the Curve/Storm combo.
The feature I like most about Safari on the Iphone is it uses the IPhone's multitouch capability for a zoom shortcut. In the vodaphone video, the guy used a zoom key.
The Storm is supposed to be multitouch right? Any ideas on if the guy simply didn't use a similiar feature or if BB didn't truly utilize the multitouch capacity?
I have a question about texting. I've never used a blackberry so can I send/receive texts that have more than 160 characters? or will it be broken up into separate texts?

Also does it have threaded sms?
Separate as of yet. I hope they will change this, as least for in-carrier txting. The txt messaging is threaded, but not in the traditional manner. Each txt is in your mailbox individually, but the newest one is at the top with the earlier txts underneath.

Question about what "National Retail Price AT LAUNCH ONLY" means? Does that mean only on launch day, or only for a specified number of days? What would happen if you went in to buy the phone and the store was sold out? Would you be able to get one at the Launch pricing when the store got more in?

I would think they would need to give you a rain check. "National Retail Price AT LAUNCH ONLY" sounds like the initial release price is a little bit lower so after rebate the price matches the iPhone in a direct attempt to generate as many initial sales as possible. They'll probably bring the price back up after a certain period of time (my guess would be after the Black Friday sales?). Of course, like all the other BB's, as time goes by they will probably drop the price too.
1) This is very technical. The Curve currently does not support streaming audio from a video file onto a bluetooth headset. Is there anything to support the Storm bring able to do so. Example: I am able to watch a video clip and get audio through my Kensington bluetooth headphones.
2) I have yet to not be able to call telesales and get a phone before its release. Perhaps we should get together a rep list with name, extension. Anyone hoping that maybe by Wednesday a friendly rep will be willing to ship out some Storms?
On the topic of getting rebates when purchased at retail pricing, I can also second what Omie posted.
Over the past 7 years, I have probably had 30 different phones with approx. 20 of them being bought without a contract. I have received every rebate I have ever sent in. I don't buy at the retail stores though, so receipts are not a problem.
it speifically states no bt or wired bbac for mac!!!
BroadbandAccess Connect gives you the power to connect to the Internet remotely using your BlackBerry Storm as a tethered
modem. Simply connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your notebook computer via the USB cable provided with it to browse the
Internet, access your corporate Intranet and download files.
Operating System compatibility: Microsoft Windows Vista
™
, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 (USB and Bluetooth
®
technology
connectivity); no Mac compatibility – BT or tethered)
This (Mac compatibility) is correctable with a firmware update - no? It seems RIM and VZW would be otherwise shutting the doors on the increasingly saturating Mac and iMac marketplace. What possible reason(s) would they have to limit the Storm to PC users only? Inconsistent 3rd party fixes also make little sense.
Granted, as an iPhone competitor Apple might have reason to be less than cooperative but what about the fact that Macs and iMacs now run Intel and Windows programs? I'm not yet mac familiar but one might think if they run Windows programs then...?
