Each IM program has a corresponding BB program for it. If you want an IM program that can handle all the IM programs in one, then you will need to either look at Verizon's IM program (which uses text messages rather than data) or look at a third party app like JiveTalk.

I'm sure it will. I used Live Messenger on my Curve everyday. It handled it just as well as any other smartphone I have used.

weird. i was on Blackberry.com, i selected Verizon Wireless, selected the Curve and Storm and did the thing to compare the two models. The check was missing on the headphone jack for the Storm, but there for the Curve. I know the Curve had the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and it seemed odd that this media friendly phone would not. thanks for clearing that up. the last thing i want to do is carry an adapter around.

Thanks, and to cellmet too. I certainly do not need them simultaneously and certainly do not want to use VZW's as text messages. I just wanted to clarify they work w/data and to help further clarify for Fetto - who was asking about AIM.

I read about the BGR myself about the Best Buy flier correction for the 23rd. I called two Best Buys near me and both the workers said the people that preordered the phones would get them on the 21st, they haven't heard anything about it and they have their appointments setup for the 21st. If the workers aren't wrong about the 21st then perhaps the flier is referring to the Storm being on sale for people that didn't preorder it on the 23rd and the free bluetooth headset will only be for people that do buy it non preorder?

My Curve and Pearl were both excellent. Right up there with the Motos I've used.

I stopped by the corporate verizon store in Lawrenceville NJ. The "senior sales representative" said the storm wasn't available until Friday...even for VIP customers.

And this was the address printed on my mailer. Any thoughts??? Anyone know this store?

It, most likely, will not be available until Friday to anyone, including VIP customers.

Damn right I signed up to let Verizon send me any promo's. I mentioned that in another post. When you like a company you use, it's best to sign up and let them send you things via email/mail (I won't do over the phone offers). You never know when you'll score something good for letting them do so.

Do I get useless to me junkmail from VZW once in awhile? Yeah. But it doesn't bother me, because it shows the company I'm interested in knowing what's new (even though Hofo does that for me ) and heck, just never know when something great will come along. So far twice this year now, VZW sent some awesome promo's my way so I'm not complaining.

Will I expect this every year? No. I don't. I pay my bill on time (few times late a year or 2 ago but I went through some turmoil financially at the time so it was impossible), I don't complain about overages because I know how to check my account. I'm just content with what I have, and unless the network dives south here, I see no reason to switch. I don't expect the farm from Verizon, but if they want to give me one, I won't deny it

It's actually supposed to already be preloaded on the Storm

So I toyed with a storm at my corporate store yesterday, pretty exciting! The click screen was definitely different. I had it in my hand for a total of 30 seconds. But the phone feels pretty solid, the accelerometer is spot on for the keyboard. I like the feel of the glass, vs. my voyager. I guess we'll see more come friday
all I want is a cool looking, responsive capacitive touch screen, useful keyboard with swype, 10+ megapixel high quality backlit sensor with optical zoom, xenon flash, 64gb storage, bluetooth/infrared/wifi, fm radio, flashlight, open app store, customizable text ringtones, int/ext pic/vid caller id, good battery life, high sensitivity gps chipset, and a responsive open source gui, on a high quality cell phone network with real 4g is that too much to ask?

I haven't talked to anyone from Best Buy that said it would be available on the 23rd. There set release is 21st and the 22nd. 21st more so for pre orders.
