ok heres a question..i need a new phone bad...I have had 3 alias's and vzw has decided to give me a $100 credit towards my upgrade...(cuz i joined my family share plan..3 months before my upgrade date and lost my $100 upgrade fee after they said i wouldnt... ) so i have 14 days if i dont like a new phone...im thinking of going to buy teh saga right now..just so use for the next week till the storm comes out fri...they should be able to exchange and apply my upgrade and discounted $100 towards the storm once it comes out no? i figured ill get a phone that actually works..and get used to the smartphone till the storm comes out fri
Just came from a corporate store...wanted to make sure I could get the Storm Friday. Two salesman told me that they had gotten an email that made them unsure as to whether the phone will be in stock Friday. Somehting about merchandising on 11/22/2008. I have to keep in touch with them throughout the week to see if they figure out when they'll actually get them. Maybe this is related to all the Best Buy delay rumors.....?
I'm sure the thing about Best Buy "moving" the date back again to the 23rd is because they always have their promotions start on Sundays (they are giving away a free BT headset with the Storm). Assuming that they have the phones in the store on Friday, the 21st, I'm sure they would be willing to sell it to you then, especially since it saves them from giving away a free BT headset.

The free headset is in certain areas. At least that is what I was told. In my area they aren't offering it.
Does anyone know if the touch screen on the Storm is much better than that of the LG Dare? I understand it has a "click" function, but is the click equivalent to the Dare's vibrate function?
I know an exclusive Verizon store owner who said that the phone is available on 11/21/08 to online and phone orders, but that's the same time that the stores can order the phones, which means they won't be available in B&M stores until Saturday, 11/22.
Sorry if this info is a repost. I couldn't read through all 136 pages!
I'm not sure but you would think so; the same device with a touchscreen. I sure hope it supports Divx.
I sure hope so. If the storm supports Divx it will almost be the perfect device for me. Guess I'll have to trade in my Cylon Communicator for this phone. I wonder how much the Blackberry trade up program will give me for one.

A local smalllllll store said to me today that I can come in at 10am when they open 11/21 and it's first come, first served. He said no problems for me getting a storm on that day.

I think you would be better off going the eBay route for that Cylon and list it as an antique. Blackberry's trade up program does not recognize the devices' true functionality

The click is an actual depression of the whole screen that gives you the tactile feedback of an actual button press. It isn't just simple haptic feedback of the phone vibrating when a selection occurs.
The dimensions of the storm ,according to the verizon site, show it is smaller than the curve in all three aspects. Is this correct? It's smaller than the curve? Heard several people say it would be slightly larger.

I think it is safe to say it is more responsive than the LG Dare and the Voyager. There have been many times where I accidentally click something on the Voyager or click and nothing happens. I feel a vast improvement coming with this phone.
Take this for what its worth, the Costco in my area the guy confirmed Verizon was having Costco sell them on the 20th the day before the release (Thursday)
