I posted here, but made some grammatical errors, that many wanted to point out, rather than focus on the factual arguments that I had...
"I had to laugh it this article. First of, you really should stop lying, Boy Genius. You obviously love or even like Verizon Wireless. You have more negative things to say about Verizon Wireless than any other carrier. You, also have more negative things to say about them than any other blogger/website.
Now, you say that it’s “pretty clear verizon’s stance on wifi”, and you say you “confirmed this a little while back with one of our really top-level sources”, that Verizon said “hell no” to wifi. If this is true, why did you not even bother to let us know what Verizon’s reason was for not wanting wifi?
This is especially interesting, with the fact that there is NOT ONE CDMA BLACKBERRY with wifi. Not One! Did Verizon tell Sprint, Alltel, and US Cellular, that they can’t have wifi? LMAO. What about the XV6800 and XV6700 with wifi? How do you say that this is because Verizon didn’t want it, when the other CDMA carriers don’t have it either?
Next, let’s look at motive for wanting or not wanting wifi. Verizon requires the blackberry plan anyway, with any of their blackberries. So, they wouldn’t lose money, by having wifi, because you’d be paying for the data service regardless. So, what’s their motive?
All in all, job well done. You make another bold, negative claim against Verizon, don’t even bother trying to say what the reason is, and don’t even bother mentioning the fact, that, none of the other cdma carriers in the U.S offer wifi anyway. That doesn’t sound like it’s that Verizon didn’t want it. Also, you didn’t mention the fact that Verizon has other non-blackberry devices with wifi.
You “love Verizon”? LMAO, with garbage articles that you constantly spew out like this, it’s clear that there is love…you love to hate Verizon, is more accurate."
Please don't be offended- but I don't feel this is on topic with the blackberry storm- its more of a criticism against BGR.
You bring up some valid points. At the end of the day- I'm thankful to have sites like BGR, engadget and gizmodo and howard forums to provide rumored tech info- alot of times they are biased towards specific products sure- but I have been a Verizon customer for years and have always thought their phone selection was not equal and inferior to other carriers phone choices.
I am hoping the BB Storm finally changes the playing field since VZW passed on getting the iphone, instinct, G1....The motive behind not having wifi (imo) is to force people to be locked on their slow 3g network- wifi would be much faster actually! (this is from my personal experience for owning the LG Dare since July and even changing the settings from rev-0 to rev A!
The BB storm is a light at the and of a very long + dark tunnel of inferior touch screen phones on the VZW network. The light is just flickering at this point since there is no actual release date, price information or final build reviews!

Not offended at all, but the title of the article is, "The Real Reason The BlackBerry Storm Doesn't have Wi-Fi " So that has everything to do with the blackberry storm. If you all still feel that it's not on topic, I'll gladly remove it, or the mods can remove it for me.
-I don't know who u are, I don't know what u want. If u are looking for a ransom, I can tell u I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills that I have acquired over the course of watching Chuck Norris in Walker, Texas Ranger, skills that make me a nightmare for people like u.

You're the guy that posted fake Storm release links on here and Crackberry.com simultaneously. What are you doing even posting here?
The BB Storm IS going to be huge for Verizon. Maybe it's just in my area (middle-high income) but it seems EVERYONE is getting Blackberry's. & I'm not talking business professionals, I'm talking college students and those in their 20's. BB Messenger is the new AIM...When this is released Verizon will post big numbers for the quarter.

Same thing over here, pal. Just like PTT for Nextels were big 2 years ago, BBM is the new "in" thing.
I have a friend that works in the engineering department for VZW and he was given a Storm to test/play with for about a week and then had to give it back. There is no final build that has been accepted by VZW and as of last week the tentative release date was the 19th. As of today the tentative release date is now the 23rd. His impression is that it is a very slick device but needs some tweaking before it is ready for prime time... He is supposed to get another version to test/play with in about another week or so.
My personal opinion is that it won't be released until early December.... Just a gut feeling that's all...
We're only getting annoyed because we've been following this phone like a bunch of junkies for months now. We're only a small percent of consumers though, and most people have no idea this thing is in the works.
Just relax, hold tight, and it'll be released when it's released. I'd rather wait to get a great product, than to get a product and wait for it to be great.
