I just want the device... I dont care if the software isn't the final revision, if it is still buggy... As long as it is usable, even if barely. I want the phone. I dealt with memory leaks on un-official revisions of software with previous BBs. The first pearl revision even with the less-than-superior quality to the replacement devices was a world of a different phone over the previous generations and I am sure the Storm will be similarly innovative. Verizon should start selling the devices now. Hell- I'd buy it even with a software-not-final disclaimer. As long as RIM is done with hardware development the phone is ready enough for me.
went to my vzw store today. spoke to a group of reps. They said the storm is coming out on nov 15th. They are getting about 40 in stock. price w 2 year contract is $400. Retail for $650. They were saying something about either only available for retail, or for upgades first, and the other wont be until 09. but they werent sure which one.

I just found out today I get to go to the Storm launch event in my area for my work! I'm too excited! I'll try to bring pics and any cool info I can back. It's this Thursday! They will also be giving raffling out 4 of them!

There is no way it is going to be $400, the Bold is only $299 with a 2 year contract and that is their flagship product.
Also, I would like to extend it to "can you stream all major online radio formats?" e.g. MP3, Windows Media, AAC+? On the current BBs people run servers at their home PCs or are using conversion websites. I don't see why I have to go to such an ordeal in order to listen to radio stations that a WiMo device can easily play. However, the Storm already supports those formats but under streaming it only lists 3GGP. I don't understand why.

I am sure you can use streaming radio. You can on previous BBs. Both with individual programs and by opening the stream strait from the web, such as shoutcast stations.

I heard Nov.15 from my buddy for a release date but that price is crazy man,it might be $500 retail but not for a 2 year contract. I was told that it would carry between a $199-$99 price tag.
