Is there a reason it says Storm visual voicemail is available "post-launch"? Are they revamping it? I don't remember this being specifically covered in the 10,000 other posts.
It's currently for the LG Voyager etc on Verizon. I never heard much about it on Verizon, but it sounds like a great idea. iPhone/AT&T users seem pretty happy with their implementation of it.
A revamp is possible, but as we have seen in the past with other GIN apps, it can take a while for a program to be made available on other devices with no real changes in their functionality. i.e. ESPN MVP.
Perhaps I didn't read it thoroughly, but does the phone contain the same feature as the Dare where the screen will shut off when it is held close to your face(via proximity sensor) during a call?
I don't see why anyone would have bought the voyager, or the dare. I was thinking about getting both but I've heard so much about the storm, and we've been hearing about it for months. I just hope they really fix the lag problem with the storm. You guys think they will?
Vzw has four teleconferences planned the couple of days for retail managment. There will be two on wed, and two on thur. Not sure what they want to cover, but thinking there may be some additional information coming down.
It hasn't been released yet. Only a lucky few have gotten their hands on it (media, employees, etc.) so it obviously has not been tested in the conditions you describe. It still hasn't been confirmed what material the screen is made of (at least I haven't seen it confirmed).

I am pretty sure its been said it does....but regardless it doesn't need one, w/ the dare its necessary so you don't his any buttons while on the call, but w/ the storms click to touch screen you aren't going to be selecting anything if its against your face unless you actually click in, and if that were the case you'd be quite aware that you've done something.
Good point on being untested. I was hoping some early testers might be able to comment on the build quality materials, and perhaps how that might relate to the conditions I'll be working in.
In other thoughts, I stopped by Best Buy this evening, and was intending to ask about the Storm. One "associate" could barely remember her name, and the other guy was all about talking about specifications, but won't pry himself away from his buddies standing there to acknowledge I was standing there waiting to ask a question. On top of that NONE of the phones they had there worked, they were all just props.......Moral of the story. I was going to ask about the phone, but got poor service. I guess thats a lot of reading for zero new information. Sorry!
Vodafone Storms shipping, Available on Nov. 11th?

Reports are coming in that Vodafone UK stores and retailers are beginning to receive their shipments of the 9500 Storm in preparation for a (now) rumored November 11th availability. TrustedReviews.com had previously reported November 7th, which could still occur, but doubtful now. More images on the click.
At the same time, Vodafone CSRs continue to mention the Storm is in their systems for a November 7th launch. Pricing appears to be about Ł350 ($538 USD).
Obviously, with the tsunami of Storm pictures, images and videos, we at BlackBerryNews.com had to resort to highly technical creativity for today’s images… but nevertheless, it looks like this UK Storm could hit the streets a few days earlier than the Verizon expected U.S. launch date of the 9530 on November 15th.
Does anyone know if there is a today screen where it will show next appointments, etc... Thanks.
I believe that is done in the theme and since all other recent BB's have that option I see no reason this one wont.

* Bold or Storm. Bold or Storm . . . MEH, one of each for the best of both words!
* My iPod is a Blackberry STORM ;-)
* The Blackberry Storm 9530 (Verizon) DOES NOT have WiFi -- PERIOD! If that's a deal breaker for you then don't get the phone.
* Confused about Blackberry voice and data plans?
