For full retail that will be the price range. The official pricing, I believe, will not differ much from that number. A phone of this calibur will definitely call for a price like that.
I never doubted that. Is it possible I can just do a new 2 year contract?
Does anyone know if the navigation function will require subscription to VZ Navigator or if it will be unlocked and available to all, like on the iPhone? It seems ridiculous to me that they would charge for something that is given away for free on their biggest competitor.
Already posted and debated over...
Verizon docs (in first post) imply that the GPS feature will be unlocked and available for BB Maps, Google Maps, etc... Not just locked to VZNav. (which my VZW rep has also told me)
Some have felt VZW will continue with their practices on past BB's, like the Curve, 8830, and pearl, where it is locked to VZNav only.
Until release units are out in users hands, this argument/debate will continue...
When we say that GPS is locked to VZNav only, what does that mean exactly? How does Google Maps work when installed on the Pearl and Curve?
I would very much like to know the answer to this also. Hopefully it will have the same functionality in Google Maps as the iPhone. I just hope it doesn't lag too much when scrolling in map view.

I know it uses triangulation which locates you relative to the tower location. Most of the time it has my position within a 3800 meter circle. It sucks for the most part; I do not use the Google Maps on my Curve.
Also I wanted to know if it is unlocked if it will refresh your location constantly if you're walking or driving (but not actually give you directions like aGPS).
I think you misunderstand what aGPS is. Assisted GPS doesn't have anything to do with giving you directions; its simply an additional tools to facilitate and speed GPS locking and accuracy, especially in conditions where it is difficult to receive signals from GPS satellites. You might want to take a look at Wikipedia for a more detailed description.
You can get turn-by-turn directions with both GPS and aGPS. However, the aGPS enabled software will be incrementally faster at pinpointing your location, incrementally better at tracking your movement, and incrementally better indoors and in other locations without LOS to the GPS satellites.

I have a Q9c with Sprint now - and they have aGPS locked, even though I have Sprint Navigation. This is one of the reasons I would considering switching - paying more - and maybe eating an ETF. It is horribly slow compared to what Verizon Nav was (with a V).
Nice - you're driving - and it won't stop beeping because it can't calibrate where you are. Oops - missed a turn. Oops - missed another turn. . .

well lets just hope that everyone is correct and the gps is truly unlocked
Hey all - does the browser handle java and flash? I know that it says "Full HTML". Can I do stuff like Pogo? I guess what I'm looking for is to use the justification that, if I get this - I won't have any need for a netbook.
