What about games? I hope that they make good use of the Storm's accelerometer
I was able to RSVP for the "storm workshop" at 8am on the 24th at my local VZW store here in Indiana. I called the store today and they had no clue about the event, but the guy hoped they had some Storms by then.
As he said "they just need to release the damn phone already!"

at the same your reasonable request just get buried into the pages of personal stories and so called new video links we have seen dozens of times a few weeks back.
soon our new shinny toy will be out and we will all be posting in the storm mod thread getting the latest backgrounds, games, and apps.

Very interested in this feature. Seems to the the only thing missing from previous and current blackberrys. For such a small detail i would hope that it would be included. This a very important feature to me as i do a ton of texts.
That's not true. My Curve has threaded SMS, as do all other BB's currently available. Now it might not be as cute as the iPhone's method with the little word bubbles, or Centro's IM styling, but it's definitely there (in the States anyways). I can't see that going away for the Storm. They might even tart it up for ya.
The storm is going to be on the 3G network, Verizon advertises the largest 3G network. While AT&T advertises the fastest 3G network. What is the difference? Besides largest and fastest, why doesn't Verizon have the fastest? Isn't 3G the same?
How will the storm compare to the iphone when it comes to connecting to the internet? I have played with iphones and I like how fast it connects to the internet, I am not at all impressed at how my Voyager connects.
The screen is it more glass like the iPhone or more plastic like the LG Dare?
and those that have used one - can you scroll through web pages (and photos etc) like the iphone with light pressure OR do you have to "click" down on the screen?
looking forward to this device!!! as I am going through iPhone withdrawal (the Dare is not cutting it for me)

I;ve been an iPhone 2g and 3g user since the release of each one. I had too many failed calls and no 3g where I live SOO I have jumped to Verizon
The Dare I have now till the storm comes out IS faster at downloading data. The reason the iPhone seems sooo much faster is that Safari and the fast CPU under the hood can render the graphics.
but with NE2 and employee discount it'd be $100 for me.. i can deal with that.
on another note:
the rep i've known for a while is still telling me the 16th for him to have the phones by and will sell it to me the minute he gets it if he can. he sees no reason to make me wait if he gets it in.
you can use BOTH the NE2 and employee discount? i thought it was one or the other...?

i went by bestbuy today to preorder mine...they said that only 5 people have preordered so far and that the date that they believe it will be launched is the 24th with a price range prob around $199 but nothing firm of course
Yeah we are taking preorders (haven't gotten ANY out at our store) and we are now being told by our Verizon reps that it's not coming out til the 24th. No word why our rep just says they want it to be the best that it can be at launch time and not have to deal with upset customers. It makes sense to me to be honest with you. I would rather wait for a nice product than get it on time and have it be 80% and have to wait for OTA updates
