Honestly when it comes to VZW and RIM can BG really be trusted as a non-bias opinion? He clearly has his bias to the iPhone and AT&T. I for one take what he says about the phone and the release date with a grain of salt. It is actually kind of laughable reading his posts about the Storm at times.

No he can't really be trusted. I would take anything he says with a grain of salt unless there is something to back it up be it leaked documents or corroboration from an insider (CX, Omie).

* Bold or Storm. Bold or Storm . . . MEH, one of each for the best of both words!
* My iPod is a Blackberry STORM ;-)
* The Blackberry Storm 9530 (Verizon) DOES NOT have WiFi -- PERIOD! If that's a deal breaker for you then don't get the phone.
* Confused about Blackberry voice and data plans?

Funny how every review from around the world is praising the touchscreen and click method except you. What do you say about that?"
Marc Flores from BGR:
@matrix2004 "what do I say to that?they all have their heads up their asses. It’s not just me, but people who came to this event just for the music are unimpressed with the touch screen."
Slaved to Verizon because of INCalling & my family plan :)

It worries me that this phone is so close to release date and the software isn't even fixed yet. They have a month to fix the software, package the phones and ship. Can the touch screen problems really be fixed properly in this amount of time? I've been looking forward to this phone but the sure press thing to me was iffy, hope it's good at launch.
BTW- I saw the Bold dummy at Best Buy today btw. $350 with a 2 year! That seems too much to me. The storm can't be anymore than $250 if what I read about "competitive pricing" is true (competition Iphone $200, G1 $180).

Don't worry about it this phone has OTA software updates. As for the supposed issues with the touch screen I would not take what BGR says at face value. To him "not the same as iPhone" = "problems" Storm is a different type of touch screen and those who have used it overwhelmingly love it. And yes if the Voyager is any indication software updates CAN improve touch screen responsiveness.
Well, I went to the Launch Party, it was a fun event and judging by the crowd that was there, looks like the projected demographic for this phone is the iPhone crowd. While some of the people demoed the phone, looked like most of them just did it for the concert.
Just got home from the event...what a fu**in night. Just want to let you know that I was able to get into the after party and met Dave Grohl. Also, I was standing next to Kyle from Tenacious D during the Foo Fighters in the pit and met him. Both great guys.
Anyways, my impressions of the Storm are that it's a fantastic device, but it definitely needs some work. Plenty of lag, and at times, it did not work at all. Again, these are all beta versions which apparently they have had for several weeks. Regardless, the device feels great in the hand, the click-screen feels great, and the screen is absolutely beautiful. I honestly can not wait until the device is ready for launch and hopefully bug-free. Damn what a night. On top of that, I was the last person w/ my bro to close down Pink's. How often does that happen? Never!
The general consensus from BGR is that the device isn't that good -- touch screen isn't responsive, and they stated that things are laggy. BGR also said the "touch-click" feature is more annoying than pleasant...
Hope this improves before the release! This thing's got more hype than Greg Oden's return to the NBA....and look what happened to him! lol
its disappointing to hear all of this, i was really looking forward to this phone and now all the reviews say its not that great and we are going to have to wait forever to get it
