Dude, go back a few pages. Some people got these postcard invites to a special sale and the Storm was shown on the card. Now it appears there will be no storm sale at the event.
Brilliant! Come to a super exclusive sale.... and then look at the unreleased phone we will be selling any week now.... but please buy some of our existing stock of older phones and use up your NE2.

what?!?!
If you read the forums linked to it appears as they MAY have the Storm there to show off but the main point is to give VIP's (not necessarily those in the VIP program) an advanced chance to get the Black Friday deals.
Sounds like bait and switch to me
. . . but whatever . . . I didn't get one and even if I did I have no desire to go. I'm number 3 on my store's waiting list and they ARE holding phones for us, so I'm good once it is released.

* Bold or Storm. Bold or Storm . . . MEH, one of each for the best of both words!
* My iPod is a Blackberry STORM ;-)
* The Blackberry Storm 9530 (Verizon) DOES NOT have WiFi -- PERIOD! If that's a deal breaker for you then don't get the phone.
* Confused about Blackberry voice and data plans?

Who said you angered me? I have not had a problem with your posts and I believe you even agreed with me about corp store representatives.
I took it you were pointing a finger towards me because I did pre-order the Storm at BB and discussed what I was told when I stopped last night to get an update from the store. All is well.
I do, however feel that discussions on prices and release dates need to be moved to a "Storm Rumors" thread. This is getting way out of hand. This is a pre-release thread, not a rumor control thread. Our trusty moderators will ban some people for a day or two for posting off-topic discussions in here, but the rumors of release dates and pricing are off-topic IMHO and should be dealt with either with more bans, or make a new thread for the drivel being posted on here.
I am no longer an employee of VZW, I left on good terms and still think VZW is the best network in the U.S. and most helpful CSR's in any industry.
CanAm and macizcool, maybe you should take that discussion to PM if you're gonna continue it?
Took the words out of my mouth.
And about the Private sale thing.
Most people who called VZW about it have gotten the response that no, the Storm will not be available to be SOLD at the stores. As in walk in with money walk out with a Storm.
VZW reps are "UNSURE" if the storm being on the flyer could mean demos will be available to play with, or if they'll be able to pre-order the storm for delivery on the 24th.
Unsure = they really have no clue.
The preorder thing kinda... sorta? goes with the VZW document thing that's rolling around (the thing we use to "justify" an "official" release date with).
So we'll see.
+1. Also what else is a pre-release thread besides a bunch of rumors????
+1.
The only way release date info and pricing info aren't "rumors" is when it's announced by VZW.
In other words... everything so far is a rumor.
VZW never "officially" announced the 24th or the pricing. (CS reps don't have a concrete answer and just use what they've heard still)
Verizon has announced the official release date and pricing for the BlackBerry Storm. As predicted, the Storm will launch just in time for the holiday rush on November 21, and sell for $199.99 USD after a $50 USD mail-in rebate and the signing of a two-year service contract.
I don't think I've ever been this excited about a company releasing the release date and price of a phone before.
Also, this was interesting from the article:
Make no mistake; the BlackBerry Storm is no normal touch device. The screen feels like a semi-hard plastic. It really bends when you press on it, but when pressed hard, it simply moved in and didn’t show any signs of wanting to crack or break.
I don't think I've ever been this excited about a company releasing the release date and price of a phone before.
So I guess this means the 2 year contract price is $249.99 plus a $50 rebate then. That seems to agree with the "fine print" of the Storm NYC Hunt contest.
This would also mean that the corporate discounted price will be $139.99 plus a $50 rebate.
But seeing as the price has been now made official, including the rebate, I recently received notice that I have a $100 credit to put towards any phone as long as I sign a 2-year contract. Can I apply this credit to the Storm at date of purchase?
