Weird icon on my phone @_@

I have a weird icon on my phone (in the top status bar) that looks like a roll of film from an old kodak camera where you have a roll on each side. Does anyone know what this means?. I haven't been able to find anything about it in the manual. It sort of looks like this (but the two rolls are not actually "@" symbols)...

EDIT: so how do I know when I have voicemail...which "roll" goes solid or do both?.

No problem, and as ShoTTa said, you have icon= you have voicemail no icon= no voicemail

Although the reason for the icon's appearance has been covered thouroughly, we might explain to those who weren't alive before the digital era, the icon is supposed to represent the all-but-extinct cassette tape, like answering machines used to use way back when they were powered by steam... ...and one could actually understand clearly what was recorded on them.

Funny how even the most modern devices still use those old metaphors:

when you have the icon there that should mean you have a voicemail. If you don't have any the icon wont be there anymore. Using non-T-Mo phones used to cause issues where the icon didn't work properly also so that could be the case.

Yup. My old Nokia had the reel-to-reel tape for voice mail. When I got my current phone and got my first voice mail, I was like "why's my phone got a head with barf rays coming out of it on there?"

Us old guys remember the Instamatic cameras too, they used 110 film and these little guys, flash cubes-

Ah, the flip-flash! I had a 110 camera that used those as a little kid. The camera would set up a static discharge that went to the first unbroken flash bulb in the series. The jolt would break the bub, release whatever gas or chemical inside and give off a bright flash of light. It would go down the row with each shutter click until all the bulbs were used up.

I vividly remember that the discharge gave off a strange smell that I liked, and being a kid, didn't know or care whether inhaling those fumes might be harmful.

My parents had the first camera, and, as a kid, I had the second one, and I want through lots of those tall flashbulbs. You used them three times, then you flipped them to use the other three flashes. There were little dots on the back to indicate which flashes were used (clear dot) and which were still good (green dots). And I also liked the smell. Kind of an acrid, burning smell.

And I also had a Kodak Party Star instant camera. Polaroid won a lawsuit against Kodak over its sale of instant cameras and forced Kodak to offer a recall and refund of all the units it sold, but I decided to keep mine, figuring it would become a collector's item. Does anyone know if it did? Probably doesn't matter, since I haven't seen it in years, although, knowing the way my mom meticulously packed things away with the care of an archivist, it's somewhere, possibly still in its box.

I had one with the cube flash. You know how it was. An adult got a new cam, and just gave the old one to the kids to play with. They gave me mine with about 6 of the flash cubes. I went around and in about 5 minutes used them all, just to set them off
