any1 do this in order to get data on pay as you go phone?

assuming u have a browser capability phone like the blackberry curve...i have at&t curve 8310 unlock on pay as you go tmobile sim card. but i can't surf the web which i would like to do... i was thinking of keeping the existing pay as you go sim card and subscribing to the tmobile flexpay for the unlimited $39.99 blackberry data plan. this mean i will get a 2nd sim card but that mean i have to swap it out back and forth if i want to use the phone for voice call and browsing the internet.

    so here are my questions:

    1. any1 here already have thought about this and are currently doing this? if yes, how do u like it? isn't it pain in the *** to keep swapping out sim card?
    2. any other workaround beside this if you have pay as you go plan and have a blackberry and want data also?
    3. can you also tether with you laptop with the $39.99 unlimited blackberry plan. if yes, this maybe the the tipping point of me doing this. if no and u have to pay extra for tethering feature..than i may have a 2nd though about this.

Im not sure what you are trying to do...

If you have t-mobile PAYG why dont you just drop it completely and go with the flexpay?

All data plans $20 and up are intended to be able to tether. I tether with my $20 BB plan all the time, even the $20 total internet can be used to tether.

well...i dont think i will use the voice that much and think it is a waste to subscribe to the cheapest voice which is about $30 for 300 minutes...i dont think i would be even using that much...so i think it is a waste. but i like to surf on the internet alot with my blackberry and think the $20 add on or $40 standalone is good deal for me.

so if i want to keep my pay as you go and also go on the flex plan with 2 sim cards...swapping them when i want to use it for voice and data...am i able to do this? i would assume so based on what you say? but i think it will be pain in the azz.

Swapping SIM cards a lot is a big pain. Truthfully, it's actually easier if you just carry two phones - one BlackBerry with your $40 data plan and a separate talker just for your prepaid phone calls. When you need to make a phone call, take out the phone and use it.

This two phone approach has another distinct advantage - you can keep using Internet via tether or e-mail even if your talking on your prepaid phone.

one thing i forgot to mention...i only plan to use the data for 1-2 month and then cancel it. so i think 2 phones would not be wise for me.
