I've been getting those annoying calls also. My display reads 0000000000.

I answered it today. It's a computer calling asking to take a survey and you can win a cruise. Signing up on the Do not Call list hasn't helped!!

The thing with the Do Not Call List is that only legitimate businesses have to follow it since they are the ones that will get fined. Scammers and spammers will spoof the number or use a "non-sense" number to still call people.

Yeah, it's the stupid cruise ship survey. I also got this on a bunch of other phones, mobile and landline.

Also... The DNC list only becomes effective after 31 days.

Your registration is valid for a three (3) year period and becomes effective thirty-one (31) days after you register. You will not be notified when your three (3) year registration period expires. If you want your registration to continue without interruption, you should re-register your number(s) before the registration period expires.

    1) They are exempt because it's a "public opinion poll"
    2) They buy the list
    3) They have a list of valid numbers

    Same **** happened to me.

Having my number originally with Vonage, and ported to Fido, I had NEVER received a spam call ever. Recently signed up on the do not call list (for ***** n giggles), and I got that call from +10000000000 for the cruise BS.

Call it a coincidence but I was unhappy to get that call.

i've been getting them for a couple weeks now... can't fido track these jerks down and slap them with a big fine or something?

i've had stuff like this happen for years, off and on. last one i got was from a forged number in newfoundland.

Fido might or might not be able to track them. If the call comes from PSTN then it can be tracked via ANI (diff. from Caller ID). If the call comes from other than PSTN, then it can be tracked to the originated switch, but not necessary further (e.g. VOIP gateway etc).

With that said, if you think Fido will track them for you, you are in a wet dream.
