Change default ring setting for when charging?

Hello, I own a V710 (Telus network, no fancy modifications done)

When I charge my phone, it automatically goes to the 'Loud' ring style. When I unplug it from the charger, it automatically goes to the 'before it was charged' ring style.

In either scenario, I'd like it to default to 'Vibrate'.

I think I recall stumbling across a setting that'd allow me to change defaults when I first got my phone :S.

Thinking I just plugged mine in and changed the ring style.

With the phone closed, hit the up/down switch on the left side, then hit the button below to cycle until it just says vibrate. It should remember if it's plugged in or not, at least mine does.

It does that automatically to prevent it from vibrating off of your nightstand when you charge it at night. I don't think that there is a way around this.

No, it can be done, mine is set to "Loud" when plugged in and vibe then ring when not charging.

I just tried that method and it didn't work but it is possible somehow to set it so that you have two different rings depending on the charging status, somehow...

... not without hacking the firmware to pieces probably.

my razr does the same thing... luckily my z6w doesn't.
