Harassing phone calls and texts... Block the caller?

Well, I am receiving text message after text message and call after call from someone and I would like to see if there is a way that AT&T can block a specific phone number from texting and calling?

I have an OG iPhone if it is any consolation...

If not, I guess my only option is to change my phone number -- which I don't care to do since I have had it for over 10 years. Any other ideas?

Or buy a Symbian S60 OS powered Nokia phone and use downloadable Advanced Call Manager from Webgate. The software will let you reject calls automatically from your "blacklist"

There may be similiar software available for iPhones

I'd say just get smart limits for a month and block that number. after a month im sure they think you changed # and quit.

The way I've dealt with such people is that I block the number with a call and SMS filtering program (I use MagiCall for Windows Mobile but there are others), AND using YouMail i ditch them so they can't even leave a VM.

or sign up for the free youmail service that has a feature that will allow you to enter in that particular number and make it so that particular caller is rejected. I have done it so far for a former friend's numbers and I haven't gotten a single call. I am not sure if it can also apply to text messages though. do a search for youmail......it's a pretty awesome service (it's a voicemail service actually) and I have been using it for ove ra year now tihout a single issue. Good luck.

I had this problem at one point. AT&T couldn't do anything about it, said they could only change my number. The cops said I didn't have any proof of threats. I had a BlackBerry at the time and I bought a call filter program. With the iPhone I am not sure what you would do. I would say file a police report and see if you can scare the harasser away with the report.

Problem solved... I signed up for the AT&T Smart Limits and blocked the number and texts. Pretty nice feature, it's a shame that it has to come to something like this...

Now I hope that they don't call from another number!

That's pretty said that you have to pay for this type of service.
