It's true that it's off the system but can't you find a more tactful way of saying that or is it just you can't comprehend respect?

For the OP, you could try to take-over another person’s contract but I'm sure it's a hassle and I'm not clear on how that works exactly.

I could be wrong and correct me if I am, but I heard that in order to be able to take over a contract and take advantage of a specific feature on said contract, in this case the 6GB data plan, the feature has to be "current" or something along that line, which would essentially make taking over someone's plan with this feature impossible right now.

I believe that this is Fido's policy but it is not Roger's policy.

I posted the same thing a few months ago and someone corrected me (I believe that it was shawntdot).

When taking over a contract. They must build you an entirely new account. If you have an old plan that doesn't exist anymore. You will not be able to get it. This goes for the 6GB Data plan.

What's wrong with the 1GB plan? Rogers said almost every customer was using less than 500MB, much less 1GB. Plus now that they have the "max $100 data charge" if you go over, it's not as big of a deal as it was when you could get hit with a $5300 bill.

If you don't actually use more than 1GB, then it shouldn't be a problem. I think they should have kept the 6GB plan too, but Rogers does whatever they want without regard to their customers - which will come back to bite them on the *** next year when the new spectrum auction winners start poaching Rogers customers!

the OP wants the 6GB plan back cuz he rather get 6GB for $30 instead of 1GB for $30. but its too late now he has to get the 1GB version now.

Pinchy1974, don't plan on the new guys stealing any data users just yet. it was said before that they are doing just voice to build up network.

I'm not shy of selling my account with $30 for 6 GB if take over is possible.
If its not a smart phone, its a dumb phone.

If you try to take over a account with the 6gb plan it will not transfer over, I've done and seen it not carry over. So if you take it over just know you WONT get the data portion
    ...............And Then There Was NOKIA

Won't work, you've seen craigslist ad's like, 200 bucks to take over my grandfathered CityFido Plan etc.etc.,

will not work since they do not let users take over another users contract that has a grandfathered plan on it.

What were to circumstances behind this? Please elaborate ad nauseum, so I can tell you why it failed.

In the mean time it will work.

I've tor'd a 6Gb after it was cancelled and there was no issue.

    @ davidwongdw
contrast, 'prohibited grandfathered PLANS from tor' VICE, 'prohibited grandfathered ESSENTIALS from tor'. Unless they changed something in the last few days?

    OP., Your only solution is:

    a-face the choir and pay $25 for 500mb or $30 1Gb
b-find someone to tor YOUR account, find a plan with 6gb for YOU to tor as your new one (I can point you in a few directions).

    Hope that helps?

If you are that sensitive to what was said, you REALLY need to grow a pair of balls. We've all seen real flaming, but that was not in the most remote sense of the worse curt or insulting. OPs question was answered, then tacsniper made an observation of human nature...c'est tout. Lemme guess, you started crying when E.T. finally went home? Chin' up ol' boy.

nitroblu, lol., yeah nice catch .

thats different, cityfido plans are non-transferable since its unlimited calling for what $40? (it goes against rogers screw the customer policy)

but i've been reading that the 6GB plan is transferable, i think we need treatz to confirm this.
