Do airtime cards actually expire 1 year after purchase?

I have unused airtime cards, and they say they will expire one year from the purchase date. Is this correct?

I would really rather not use them until I need to.

I think airtime cards may not expire, but the pin numbers you get from some retailers on the cash register receipt supposedly expire after one year.

Someone at Yahoo just posted using 60 minute cards from 2fers almost 2 years old.

My cards are from this year's 2fers, last January.

Why take a chance and maybe loose out?
The minutes & service time do stack, ya know.

One reason might be losing the phone. I have misplaced my Moto C261 with dbl min, over 500 min on it and service into 2010. I'm wishing I didn't have it loaded up right now.
