Their is a setting that you can change to make the phone gsm only. Essentially turning off cdma all together. Now I have read that even when you turn off cdma your Verizon number is still displayed at the top of the dialer screen.

No it will not work on Sprint, Sprint will not activate any phone that's not branded by them (i.e. has a logo, and the serial number is in their database) and it's been asked a hundred times before, it won't happen, sorry. If it were possible, I'd already have one!

    HI,

Do you know anyhting aobut the Bold. We can unlock the bold and use it with tmobile but i heard it has some problems with the data or something. So to avoid it you have to put the service books. So the above idea you mentioned is good and with that the data and emails and everythoing will work on tmobile network?
Also what if we debrand the phone. First of all please guide me what is debrand?

    THANKS

There are plenty for sale on a website that starts with e and ends with bay.

Looks like they go for about $600+ depends how lucky you are.

My friend is using a Bold on T-Mobile and it works great. He paid 200 bucks for it just after the Bold was released (found it on Craigslist) and never looked back. I told him he should have pawned it off on eBay or something since they were going for $1k+ at the time but he liked it too much.

Call VZW, tell them you are leaving for europe this week and would like to use your own local sim card for the country you are going to

they will email you a disclosure about unlocking your phone and advise you about charges and fee's associated with using another carriers SIM card.

once you get that email, they will then generate an unlock code for you right over the phone.

    now, go to this site

    http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/how...54/index5.html

download the program + the t-mobile service books, follow 3 simple instructions and VOILA!

it was easy. i have the best of both worlds now. i'm using my storm on the t-mobile 2G network and whenever i want to, i can switch over the VZW's 3G network.

the coolest part for me is that VZ Navigator works with both my VZW and my T-mobile~!
I didn't know that the storm has no wifi ouch, but how's the EDGE speed with the storm?

I unlocked my Storm for free through Verizon Global support 1-800-711-8300. I told them I wanted to use a different SIM card overseas. It's working great with my T-Mobile SIM. I can switch at will between Verizon's and T-Mobile's network. It's very useful to me because I used to have to carry around two phones.

I was thinks about getting this and only using Verizon Unlimited data/BB plan - will that one tether, or does it need the additional internet plan also? Calls are $.25 per minute, but with a TMo family plan GSM chip in it...

However, rumor has been that Verizon will only have 90 day exclusive on this, and TMo might get their own version without all of the above hassle. Then of course, other rumors say it will be 12 month exclusive...
