Samsung Behold Browser, E-mail Client, and Video Playback
I'm getting this phone soon. I just wanted to know if you can surf the web easily, set up G-mail and Yahoo e-mail accounts easily, and does the Behold have video playback? and if so, what is the file type? mp4? wmv? Please help!
Thanks!
settings generic emails is easy.. they have most if not all the big email providers preset on there. there's only unsolved issues regarding private and smaller email providers that aren't associated with the normal companies.
There is video playback. I'm not sure what it uses however. I just know you can watch youtube, and make videos.
I am interested in this phone's browsing capabilities as I have purchased it as a gift for my girlfriend for her birthday and ALL the reviews I have read have described the browser experience as "Mediocre" at best and that the "full HTML web browser" is a downright lie. Is this at all true? Does the Behold ONLY download WAP mobile versions of pages?
It only accesses WAP sites out of the box. You have to tweak the admin settings on the phone to get rid of the proxy that is initially on the phone. Once you do, it's pretty much full html browsing.

If you would be so kind good sir, how might I achieve that?

My apologies, I completely forgot to put up the instructions. Here's what I found in another thread.
These instructions are from another member, qwikndrty above I think, and I have found them to work better than the settings I posted earlier:
Dial *#6984125*#
Select: Network & call settings
Select: Connection
Select: Browser
In the "Access name" use: internet2.voicestream.com
Scroll to "Proxy address" & remove the :80
Keep in mind that you'll need a plan that's above the now dead T-zones 5.99 internet plan. If you currently have Total Internet on your account, you're all set.

So having web2go/tzones won't work with these changes you mentioned?
