When they came out with a new Z model like every 3 months, u gotta ask, what's wrong with the last one? Up to Z11 now(?).
Best of luck.

I just got one of these pieces of crap as an upgrade and already it has problems. Which doesn't suprise me, it's a motorola for crying out loud. You can run it over with a truck and it will be in one piece, but don't expect it to work when you open the box!
The battery indicator DISSAPPEARS when I turn off the phone. It WILL NOT connect VIA usb so that I can flash the new firmware onto it and fix the issues. What I'm upset about the most, is that motorola NEVER told t mobile that the first batch of rizrs had problems until after the fact, and now that customer care doesn't even CARRY them anymore I'm pretty sure that the phone they just "replaced" mine with (it's on it's way from GA right now) is going to have the same problem. the damn bluetooth doesn't even work. WHAT THE HELL GIVES?!? If it weren't for the fact that my old samsung t629 slider is broken after a very unfortunate meeting with my driveway i would SO send this back but seeing as how it's my only phone right now I'm over a barrel.
Thanks a lot motorola.
anybody know if this is a known issue, are you having the same problems? And, if you know how to fix it, PLEASE PM ME! I do not feel like waiting a week for a new phone.

well the good news is tmobile is sending me a new phone.
the bad news is.... it's the same phone. *sigh* will they EVER learn? I honestly think I got a refurb'd phone even though i UPGRADED meaning I should get a shiny new phone that actually, um.. works.
I think the usb/charging port is bad. Upon further inspection it looks kinda bent. The battery is totally dead now, I plug my phone in and SUPRIZE SURPRIZE, it won't take a charge. I really wish somebody at tmobile would have told me that the phone had the issues it did. Instead they told me to order it off their website, absolving them of all responsibility. I have NO tmobile store in my area so I can't get a loaner phone or even do an exchange on the one i have.
way to go, morons, this is an excellent example of how to piss off a longtime customer.
hope all works out for you. I actually like my rizr and had 0 problems with it. Hopefully your new one works like it should![]()

Well, if there's one thing the Internet is good for, it's to let people vent their frustration on the keyboard rather than violently against other people

i just don't get it. i mean, it's a CUTE phone and oddly enough I actually like it which is wierd because I never really liked motos before. But everybody says I sound better on it and I don't have problems hearing them. I just don't understand why they're in such a hurry to get the latest and greatest out on the market, and then we all know they don't really make sure the phones don't have firmware issues, etc... and everybody wonders why other phone manufacturers take so long to get new phones out it's because they're TESTING THEM!!
I like the size, I like the call quality, the screen is very clear as opposed to my samsung (pixelated), the ringtones don't sound muffled nor does the speaker phone. But I'm pretty sure the phone NOT showing the battery indicator, NOT holding a charge, and NOT being recognized by my usb port as other than a device that's having a problem (understatement!!) means there's a big problem with the firmware or the usb port is shot.
I'm just mad that tmobile would send their customers a refurbished phone esp when the phone is supposed to be new.
Strange, I always got the impression every other manufacturer rushed the phones out and they had loads of problems too, and Moto was always late to the party (not that they necessarily have better quality control).Originally Posted by moonlitmagik

(Or you could complain to t-mobile's customer service and get something out of it other than relieving your frustration on a forum)

oh they know I'm mad, believe me. I just wish someone knew how to fix the problem with it not showing the battery meter but I'm pretty sure that the usb port is shot. Once the phone died, there was no reviving it for me. I have no other phone, this one won't charge, and I have no store nearby to get a loaner from.
Talk about great customer service!
try holding down the power key as you plug in the charger. My daughters rizr does the same thing if she lets the battery go completely dead. Have to work with it for a while to get that first charge going.
i had that phone it took alot of beatings but i never had problems with it... also my razor v3xx i never had problems with that one either... maybe your just not lucky? lol j/k anyways i hope everything works out good luck
slocraiger, mine doesn't even recognize that the charger is plugged IN to it... the green light DOESN'T COME ON. Then the battery meter didn't display (when it did work). If I turn off the phone and back on, the battery meter still flashes like it's charging... and it wasn't plugged in. Motorola told me the firmware needed fixed but when I tried to plug it into my computer the usb device icon didn't come on to tell me there was something plugged in. Instead my computer didn't recognize it so I couldn't flash the firmware. I couldn't make a connection with motorola tools, or flash and backup.
Before the battery died, if I opened the slider too fast, my wallpaper would dissappear and the screen would turn completely white. Also if I punched a phone number in too fast it would confuse the phone and it would shut off. Over the course of however some many years I have been with Tmobile it just appals me that they would send me a USED phone. Because according to them, all of the old rizrs with the firmware ending in .08.0BR Should have been PULLED from the shelves, which was the first shipment they recieved from motorola. The USB port on mine is bent a little, the case is kinda scuffed and yes it looked USED so believe me I was on the phone with them the second I opened it. It wasn't even packaged securely, it was just a phone tossed in a box with a charger.
that is a bummer moon... sounds like a bad phone. You need a good battery to be able to usb connect to your pc. If you could get another battery, or charge yours in another phone you could probably then connect it to the pc to flash.
