My first post.
$30 Val Pack doesn't come with $10 credit as originally posted. This was going to be the initial offer but it appears someone made a booboo and retracted that real quick.
The codes are VP30bb500,VP30WM500.
I had called several days ago and requested to add the first pack (with Unl e-mail), and this included the 10.00 credit. The rep i spoke to yesterday who switched me to the new pack (with 500mb data) advised that she would simply leave the credit there, as it wasn't "attached" to the prev pack. Must have been put on manually. Either way, i feel pretty lucky...
I received a flyer for a $99 offer for a Bold upgrade with a minimum $15 BB data plan.
Would the $30 data plan in this thread qualify? (Clearly the $ amount is greater but would it be considered an eligible BB plan for the upgrade?)
Called in this morning to at the $30/500mb value pack for Blackberry. The rep I spoke to didn't know about the $10 credit, but put me on hold and came back to say that yes, there was a $10 credit. I asked him to explain the credit, and he said that the system now shows "33.3% Value Pack Discount".
I'm pretty sure that he is just mistaking the 33.3% discount for additional wireless essentials (LINK) for a $10 credit on THIS value pack, as 1/3 of $30 is $10. I'm guessing that I won't have any credit on the value pack at all, but hopefully I can call in and argue once the first bill arrives.
I just made the switch via phone with a data rep and she said there is no $10 discount, just 33% off additional services. She sounded pretty knowledgeable.
I didn't argue, this is an awesome value pack especially for Blackberry users; for me 500MB on my BB is essentially unlimited data.
In case you all haven't noticed, these plans are in response to Telus's Smartphone Bundles! Key mentions...while are SMS isn't unlimited, it is 10,000. As well, our phones work with MMS, their smartphones (at least the Blackberry's) don't. As well, their "500mb" data is limited to on device usage only, and ours is good for 500MB on any device, including tethering! They include VM 10, we include Enhanced VoiceMail (20 or 25 capacity).
As well, their bundle requires a $30 minimum plan...our's doesn't.
Perhaps this was already addressed and I apologize for asking if it has...but does anyone know if a similar VP will be released that includes 1GB of data?

+1
i just got off the phone with the rudest rep. I just simply wanted to add the the $30 pack, he thought I was making it up and trying to scam rogers or something, and sounded like he jsut wanted to get off the phone....sounds like sum1's having a bad day lol
What are the overage charges on the 500mb data. Right now I have the 6GB plan, but obviously if I change plans it would save me a decent amount per month.
There is the odd month that I go up to 1.5 - 2GB, but the average is easily below 500mb.
If the overage is capped at like $75, then I would save money in the long run as the savings of $20 a month would pay for the one month a year I go over.
Thanks,
PM me to learn how to get over 10% off all your gas purchases (in Canada)

Thanks,
Not sure about the cap but when I added the VP, I confirmed with the rep that overages are 3 cents/MB - that's $3/100MB.
JUmping on this TONIGHT, when I get home from work lol
What do I ask for?
$30 VP and to Take off my 6GB/VVM? Or is there some code or something? =S
Sorry, I'm quite the n00b on offers lol
Also, will it start NEXT billing cycle?
and if I cancel the 6GM/VVM, would that cancel for the rest of my cycle? Or would it run until the end and then the next cycle this new offer starts?
I just switched over today. Last Sunday I got a new Bold for $99 on the "A special offer just for you" letter promotion, signed up for the $25 BB data plan and the $11 Wireless Essentials EVM plan.
Both of those were backed out, new 3 year (an extra 4 days, lol) contract on the $30 BB VP. No luck getting the $10 credit on top of that, the rep put me on hold, saying I was the fourth person today to ask for that credit. Came back and said it doesn't exist, so sorry.
Still, it saves me $6, gives me more text (which I won't use), and is one less thing to manage.
Also found out that the $10/10mb Vision plan I contracted for last year (with a $5.00 credit) has morphed into a 500mb "Data Service Pool". I'm now being charged $5.00 for that, but there's still that $5 credit, so essentially I'm getting 500mb non-BIS data for free. That's great if I ever decide to ditch the Bold. I'm keeping that on the account.
Had I know about that 500mb, I might have held out for the Diamond or Pro, and just kept my $11 VP and $25 voice.

I just asked for the $30 Value Pack that includes 500MB Data, and the data rep knew exactly what I was talking about. I did ask her to run through what exactly it includes and it matches OP's initial post (10k SMS, 10k MMS, Enhanced VM, CID with who called and name display and 500MB Blackberry BIS Data).
She said she's taking off my other Value Pack (I had the $15 pack) and also took off the $30/6GB Data. No DECF at all.
She also said she's able to put this in effect now or wait till my next billing cycle but I opted for now. They did screw up some of my features (I lost who called) but I called in about 30mins later and spoke to another girl who was also very friendly and fixed everything up and re-registered my BB Emails on BIS. It's all good now.
