If you cant hear then mabye they will give you a $15 or $10 Retentions Plan with the $30 Data Value Pack. Its always worth a try,

Difficulty is, I'm not sure how to get a hold of anyone. The email support is terrible, and I can't exactly call them up.

You could go to a Corporate Store and they can call in and tell them the situation, or go to a Dealer and the Distribution Information Group might be able to help.

If I switch from the BB UL email plan to the 500 MB BB data plan, there will be no ECF will there?

Also, has anyone RECENTLY been able to get a credit on the 500 MB BB data plan or the 500 MB BB value pack plans?

They are both $25 and $30 respectively, and I can't bring myself to switch from the UL BB email plan which is $15 for an extra $10/$15.

You mean DECF (D = Data).

and no. there is no DECF if you switch from 1 data plan to the next. They will have to re-new your data contract so that you have a whole 3 years under contract, but there is no Early Cancellation Fee. I have switched my data plan at least 5-6 times in 2008 and no DECF.

    Wirelessly posted (E71-2: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.13216/574; U; en))

Dont wanna make a new thread for just 1 question...but will changing from 6GB data plan to new data valuepack require me to re-sign my 3 year data contract?

Oddly enough, I inquired about the two plans and several CSRs I was transferred to could only confirm the $30 one and not the $20.. (or maybe they just wanted the extra commission?)

Wow, my head is spinning. I'm about to purchase my very first cellphone (and I'm 30 to boot....how the hell did I make it this long without one??) and believe I'm going to get an iPhone through Rogers. I was more or less looking at the $45 voice plan with 500 Mb data. I might be TOTALLY dumb here, but how is the $30 value pack coupled with a voice plan better than the $45 smartphone plan (200 WD, unlim. evenings/weekends, 500 Mb data, MY5 Canada wide)? I don't think there's really any $15 voice plans.

Please go easy on me, as I said this is mostly Greek to me!

not sure of the specifics of the plans you talk about, but I am pretty sure that the voice and data does NOT include the other features in the data value package, which means you pay extra for caller id, enhanced voice mail, text messaging and stupid useless features like mobile backup and whocalled. 500mb data alone is 25.00 making the voiceplan 20.00. which seems to me that the VP is a small market plan. Could be wrong though.

Can't seem to find it on their site, just in the Wireless Plans pamphlet I picked up....it's on the very first page (Introducing the new voice and data smartphone plans). The thing is, I can't really find anything that goes that cheap for voice that also includes the Canada-wide MY5....

But I do want the caller ID on top of that, which the value plan offers

$45 smartphone plan is available online, right now you can choose a free bonus feature, but no called id, text messaging, voice mail included.

$30 smartphone value pack includes(now $35), U/L text, CID w/name display, Voice mail (VVM on iphone) 500MB of data, and it can be combined with any voice plan.

to get the extra essentials you would need to add a value pack, $15 smartphone value pack would make sense

    so $45+$15+$6.95+$0.5 = $67.45 plus tax/month
    then you get
    200 daytime+50 bonus, unlimited ev/wkn from 9PM, 500MB, CID, VM, 2500 Text.
and one free feature (5pm, My 5 canada, ul incoming, ul in network), if you are a student you get free 6PM anyways.

now take the $35 smartphone value pack and add $35 my 5 plan Canada Wide
    $35+$35+$6.95+$0.5 = $77.45 plus tax/month
    and you get
    200+50 Daytime, UL ev/wkn from 9PM, 500MB, CID, VM U/L TXT

So doing the smartphone plan, plus an essential will definitely save you money per month
