He means that changing to this vp he's saving $10 over what he had before.

That's nice to know that the iphone users get VVM... SWEET!! I might have to change, this could potentially be a savings of $15 a month for me. I don't need 6GB of data.

i just added the 30 vp on and the rep manually added a ten dollar credit onto the account. I'm not sure if this means $30-$10 or if it is a separate $15 dollar bb messenger pack plus $25 500mb data minus $10 which would then come to $30.

Then the rep did it for some other reason but it's not an official credit for everyone.

YES! i was hoping rogers would finally match the bell smart 30 bundle! I'm giddy with joy, I can finally afford data (because I can remove my value pack since the features are redundant in the new data plan )

does anyone know the SOC for the $30 pack?

edit: nvm, the rep already knew about it, said every1 has been callign about it today!!! ahahaha Rogers struck a gold mine here. though he said it is for sure $30, and told me there is no $10 promotional discount on it. either way, still hell of a deal!

I just switched from the $25 500mb to the :
    $30 - 10000SMS, 10000MMS, CID, EVM, Who-Called, and 500MB (BIS, WM, or iPhone)

    I have a BB Pearl.

Even though I called the Rogers Data Support number, the first person I spoke with was a general CSR who never heard of it. She then put me on hold to look for it and came back within seconds to say that I was on a corporate account and she had to transfer me.

Of course she ended up just putting me back in the regular support system and I had to go through all the question and answer routine again. Anyway this time I just kept on saying corporate and blackberry data support and the person I ended up with knew totally about the plan.

I basically said I was interested in the new Blackberry Data Value pack. She asked if it was the $30 one. I said yes, but I heard that if you sign the 36 month term you receive a $10/month credit. She said hold on and within 1 minute came back to confirm what I heard.

So she applied the changes and according to her my account will list $30/month for the plan and there will be a $10 discount applied each month.

Anyway, not sure why others are having problems. Just try to make sure you get to a Data CSR, not a regular one.

    Good luck.

Just want to mention that this website has save me over $35/month charges just in the past 6 months with all Rogers changes and promotions. Without this site I would never of know. Rogers never planned to tell me.
    thanks!

There's no choice to renew to a 3Y term, or not, when getting the pack. The only option is 3Y.

People are having problems because they're asking for something that isn't the offer. If the $10 was in the offer, the discount would be automatic much like the BB Unl. email Value Pack.

It's surprising that so many people are getting a $10 discount on the 500MB Value Packs. It really shows how reps are easily confused about two similar plans and apply discounts (or in other cases, policies) to the non-eligible plans.

Does the $10 credit count against your monthly plan or is it linked to the value pack itself. I have a $15 credit on my monthly plan so if I add this value pack I don't have room for another $10 in credits.

Which would mean to get the 500mb plan it would cost me $30 instead of $20.

i believe it's just teh standard feature of the VP, it still won't work wit the iphone though. what's specific to the iphone i believe is the 500MB data part of the pack

Anyone know if you can add the $30 BB 500MB VP on a non-BB phone?
I want to get a BB in the new year, but have a N95-4 right now.

from the sounds of it, it think it' just an MSF credit, i dont tihnk it's attached to the pack, because from wat i've been reading here, it sounds like that $10 discount people are getting is not automatic/attached (reps have to add it manually)

OP says it's for all smartphone, u jsut ahve to tell the rep which smartphone u have so they can specify teh data u will get (BB, iphone, WM)...though besides BB, i don't see the differencei n data b/w an iphone and WM. I asked the rep if the newly released nokia e71's promotional pricing would be eligible with this plan, he said yes

Can anyone confirm this? If that is the case I wouldn't be able to get any additional credit on either of the two plans, darn!

What I'm after is like the 6GB data plan where people added the BB plan even though they were using smartphones, not BB's.

I don't want Rogers to cancel the VP before I get a BB and be stuck with a Smartphone VP instead of the BB VP.

Its 33% off of certain other "essentials", not off your value pack.

rogers.com live chat agents said that the $10 credit was applied to new customers only
however when i asked about switching from 6GB BIS to the new BIS plans would the $10 credit apply, she said she has no idea about that info

If you subscribe to a value pack, you get a discount on your account that gives you 33% off any other wireless essential you subscribe to, like TeleNav, Caller Ringtrax, etc. You do not get 33% off the value pack.
