That's what they said when the bold launched. Now look at the price of the bold.

It was supposed to launch in Jan. Because of the fire at RIM, they wanted to focus on Bold / Storm production....this was surprising to me!

Nice that Rogers added this phone to their line up in time for Christmas...Now only if I was with Rogers and not the Frumpy Fido...

Called Rogers twice - spoke to a regular CSR, then called again and spoke to someone in the data department. Neither one had heard of the 8900.

How do I go about preording this? Anyone know...

I guess I'll just have to wait until my exams are over to get this phone when its in stores. Another two weeks to go.

Seeing how many problems they had with the Bold in the US with AT&T it makes sense to offer essentially the same phone with EDGE. RIM is just sticking to what they know. I think this device is what they wanted to make all along as a successor to the Curve 8300 but AT&T put a gun to their head and said "We won't offer any phones that aren't 3G, get cracking"

Damnit! I don't want to wait!!

You're right though, I've called 3 times now... nobody has a clue. I asked the CSR to look in their Library and check the ordering system. They were happy to do so, but came up with nothing

I called the data dept and the lady knew exactly what she was talking about.
Unfortunately their "tools are not updated" and as much as she sees it right there she cannot process it right away.
She confirmed that i would be getting promo pricing of 179.99 on it if i meet 45$ MSF even if i am HUP1 on this line. So cancel data later since its not for this line that im getting it = 179.99+25$ (data one month)+100$(data ecf)=305=318 after tax. Not bad at all.
Plus i dont mind resigning for three years for hardware as i just did by combining my lines on a family plan (had to - employee discount)
Awaiting her call back "before 3pm"
