My hardware upgrade is due next month on the 31st. I don't know if they're even willing to give me the Curve 8900 at 179.99 if I call in today to add the $30 pack. Should I should call retentions?
I called the data dept and the lady knew exactly what she was talking about.
Unfortunately their "tools are not updated" and as much as she sees it right there she cannot process it right away.
She confirmed that i would be getting promo pricing of 179.99 on it if i meet 45$ MSF even if i am HUP1 on this line. So cancel data later since its not for this line that im getting it = 179.99+25$ (data one month)+100$(data ecf)=305=318 after tax. Not bad at all.
Plus i dont mind resigning for three years for hardware as i just did by combining my lines on a family plan (had to - employee discount)
Awaiting her call back "before 3pm"

True as it may be the case of what your opportunity cost is.. do you want performance/speed or extended battery life and network stability?
I'm noticing that my iPhone doesn't pick up calls for some reason. Odd. lol
My Moto Q has no call problems and the 3G works 99% of the time. I would never buy a non-3G phone...not in 2008. Wi-Fi is too limited for me. For example, what good is Wi-Fi when I am on the road and quickly need to look something up? I am looking at getting the Nokia E71.
As much as we are all disappointed that the 8900 doesn't have 3G, the 8900 is catered more towards Corperate users and people who have their Blackberries paid by their work place. Do you think the company that pays for your Blackberry care about 3G? All they care about is email and you don't need 3G for email. This is the perfect replacement for the Curve 8310. I can see the 8900 outselling the Bold.

You're definitely right about the "work" part. I've been using an 8700 for years without complaint. I asked my company for the Bold when it came out and they replied with a "you don't need that!". The 8900 however they are more than willing to purchase.
Stupid... but i guess that's the way some companies think.

One of my co-workers still uses the 7290! Companies don't want to spend more than they have to. For some companies, getting the Curve 8310 is a luxury! I'm sure 90% or more of these companies don't even know what 3G is.
3G? What the hell is 3G?
Why not HSDPA, WiMAX, or LTE???????
This is bologna! :P
I'll be interested when the price comes down
Otherwise, why not just get the Bold?
WTF, 3G is HSPA (same thing as HSDPA). Know ur shizzz before u speak. WiMAZ and LTE are 4G, trial runs are still going on, Seriously dude, don't speak ever again!!!
