LOL!
One dunk in the toilet otta get your co-worker a new BB!
I think that lots of folks are missing that this is a BB device...and I don't know that many people complained that much about the Edge speeds for recieving e-mails...remember that these will have the plain text versions of e-mails...so e-mail will be fast as it always has been. Yes, if you're wanting to surf the web on one of these the pages loads will be slower if you're not in a wifi area...but I personally have never been a big fan of browsing the web on my mobile device anyhow. I ,for one, am sure that this will do very well due to better camera wonderful screen and great dimensions.

She threw that thing across the room, dropped it out of a pickup truck and the darn thing still works and not a single scratch! I told her to drop it in a sink full of water but she won't.
WTF, 3G is HSPA (same thing as HSDPA). Know ur shizzz before u speak. WiMAZ and LTE are 4G, trial runs are still going on, Seriously dude, don't speak ever again!!!
I waited till 3 for that CSR's call back but she never did. She did mention she was working till 6 though.
So i called back and the tools were still not updated according to another CSR. Therefore the first lady i spoke with didnt lead me on she said shed call back when she can place the order.
I still have until 6 i guess... after that im giving up on the phone and will just wait for in stores stock.
I spoke to 4 different people today and only one of them told me that Rogers now had the 8900.
Each person pretty much told me the websites were lying to me that the news release was fake. They also said that the javelin does not exist and that I'm probably thinking of the storm.
So frustrating!
Just got off the phone with retentions, the girl I talked to (who was really helpful) said that they do have the "new Curve." Too bad they couldn't add the $30 BB VP for me, or I would have ordered one.

Reuters, RIM's newsroom, or anywhere but here shows this information. methinks Rogers jumped the gun for today's sales rush .
We just need someone with a BIG blog to post about it. The NokiaBlog shows up on Reuters & GoogleFinance when Nokia posts are made.

How were you finally able to order it?
Do any of the Rogers staff know what system should I tell the rep to check for information on availability of the 8900?
edit: I got transferred from the corp line to 'corp upgrades' to consumer customer service and then I gave up..
I just called to check if it is available. I called the Corp HUP line since I am on a corp account and the CSR did her best to find it in the system with no luck. She even tried to talk to the help desk while I was on hold in order to try to figure out if it can be done.
So I guess I will call back next week, but I think it's safe to say that we should see store stock in the next couple of weeks. This will definitely be one hot device because of the pricing and the new BB VP.
Best things in life are free! I guess I am with the wrong provider then...
I wasn't able to order it. On one of the 4 calls I placed sales told me they had it but that I had to talk to customer relations to cancel my 8320 order first. So when I called them they said that Rogers wasn't going to get the 8900 and that the websites I saw the info on had false info. They said that the phone didn't even exist on the blackberry site. I told her to contact sales and she came back and said they knew nothing about it so I'm really annoyed!!!
