    Does PdaNet work for non-tethered phones without being charged?

    i have diamond with unlimited smart plan non-tethered..and i was looking at a program called PdaNet...will alltel charge me anything for using this?..any expeirence?..i read that it "masks" or whatever but i want confirmation just to be sure

    not nescessary on alltels network. all pda net does is remove a registry key that sends tethering information to the carrier. alltel doesnt monitor this on their smart phones. the program is made for people with sprint or verizon. you will be fine if you just use the internet sharing application that came with your phone

    disclaimer: this statement is completely true and current up to the htc 6800 product line. alltel might have since placed the registry key into their system to monitor, although it is very, highly unlikely. personally, i wouldnt be concerned about it.... and, in fact, im not, i tether with a touch pro every day.
