Hi, just wondering where you can get lexus car keys cut... i'm assuming the dealer can do it, but it would cost a lot... does anyone know where i can get blanks cut? or can a normal key smith do it? thanks!
My guess is that if they are anything like a Mercedes key, you will only be able to get them through the dealer. I don't think the engine will turn if you have them cut by a normal key smith. And yes, it can be expensive!
Unless maybe you're talking about for a much older Lexus, then it may be different.
$80 is just for the Lexus key, no transponder chip no remote no keyless entry.
If you want keyless entry they need to replace the whole transponder unit which is $1200 then each key after that with remote is around $250. It is nearly impossible to program a new key with a transponder in it to work with the exsisting unit.
(These are for models with the keyless entry on the key, not a separate remote)
I would think a keyless remote would be the same price if not more.
