Sonim XP3 hands on review

The Sonim XP3 is dead and we have killed it. Thus begins our hands on review and the results of our torture test of the Sonim XP3 Enduro. Before we begin we wanted to give a big thanks to all of the BGR readers who posted suggestions. They were excellent! As for the tests we ended up choosing, we tried to stick to those that reflected what potential Sonim owners would encounter on a daily basis. Knowing that an elephant can step on it is one thing but it doesn’t help the folks who work (or play) outside in the rain and snow all day or those who are crazy adventurous enough to ride their motorcycle in the rain. Before we get to the results of the torture tests and how the Sonim stands up to its claim of being the worlds’ toughest phone, we wanted to give our overall impressions of the phone from a phone point of view. Didn't Casio build one like that for Verizon? I think it was the G-One or something.

Can anyone tell me if I can get a Sonim to work on my Verizon account - I have to have this phone!!! The only carrier that works well where I live is verizon!!!!

Sorry, but a GSM phone is not compatible w/ Verizon's CDMA network. Nothing you can do to change that.

They have these at Best Buy I saw one on display yesterday, it was yellow and looked really ugly and just plain not worth the money they were asking for it!!!!

Since this thread opened Sonim has come out with the only IP-68 rated phone in the world (XP1300 Core) and the longest talk time phone (XP 3300 Force). For those looking at beauty, you probably would have no use for a Sonim the same way someone needing rugged would have no use for an Iphone. Sonim is simply the most rugged cell phone on the planet.
