MOTOROLA RAZR 2 V8 USB connection

I want do transfer music from my computer to the phone, I installed the application, the phone detects USB connection(It says on the screen that USB connection is established), yet when a phone image is displayed on the computer it stops at "initializing", it never finishes it(I waited more than 30 min) so I just shut it down.

What is the problem? How come I can't see the new drive in windows explorer like I see with normal USB memory sticks, is it possible to transfer files from computer to phone and vice-versa?

In manual it just says to connect the USB cable to computer and nothing else...

Please help because this is one of the main reasons I bought this phone, it's just ridiculous.

    2 questions.
Did you set the USB Settings under Connections to Memory Device (sometimes also called Storage Device), usually second option in list?
What Windows do you use? If it is Vista then that is your problem.

    Connections

Set default USB to Memory Card. There should be no phone icon etc.
Connection with Phone Tools? Ensure phone is set to modem - and then transfer away... the newest version of phone tools will let you access either the phone memory or your memory card.

The Razr2 should connect just fine. I connect at home and at work.

OK, when I set USB connection to memory card it behaves like a standard USB memory stick, but I still can't synchronize my phonebook with mobile Phone Tools when set to modem(like it says in the manual), it never goes beyond initializing on the phone image screen. Is this a problem with the program, is there other program I can use for phonebook synchronization?

I really don't see why it doesn't work...
