    V750 Cracked Glass

So much for this being a tough phone, which is the main reason I bought this. I dropped mine on a linoleum floor this evening and cracked the glass on the front of the phone. VZW wants $50 to replace it. If I can locate a source for the glass, I'm sure I can fix it myself. Does anyone know where I can get one?

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Cracked glass on V750 also

I have a friend that has a cracked "caller id faceplate"on his V750. I know where to get one but I'm not sure how to take the old one out & replace new one.
    Any links on this?

Did you try talking to the VZW warranty dept? I went through 4 V750's in less than a year - three for cracked front glass and one for firmware. Never paid a cent for replacements. VZW knows that it does not have a rugged phone at all. Cracked glass is its biggest problem.

My friend said he went to Verizon and they would sell him a replacement phone for $50.
I told him to go to another Verizon store(just down the road) and ask them about it. I haven't heard back from him yet.
I was just wondering if anyone had braved to replace the glass and if there were any significant tricks....it would be different if it was mine

Anyone have any info on the actual procedure for replacing the outside lens or glass..... I found a replacement part, but dont really want to tackle the repair without knowing first what I'm getting into. Thanks!
