and it seems that this software will change the ESN at the touch of a button. From what I have read this is what I think I need to do (which leads me to my second question)
I curently use an LG VX8300 as my cell phone and would like to use my XV6700 in place of this phone, but not all the time. I don't need anything other than what I have with my current (non-data) plan, so there would not be any added option to the account (as far as I know). Can I simply change the ESN on the XV6700 to match the XV8300 and have 2 phones work on the same account? I understand I would not want to have both phones turned on at the same time, let alone try to use them at the same time. There are times what I just want a lite phone to throw in my pocket (VX8300) and times I need the Pocket PC.
I had thought about just calling Verizon and having the XV6700 turned on (it has never been activated, only used as a PDA so far), but I'm not sure I'd like it as a phone. I kinda got used to my flip phone. If I can't do this, it's not a real big deal - but it would be nice. Verizon wants $15 to change service from one phone to the other, so if I decided I didn't like the XV6700 as a phone, worse case would be another $15 to have the VX8300 turned back on.
Sorry for the long post, and Thanks in advance!!

Edit again - Just had another thought. If the service is the same for both phones and changeing the ESN would do what I hope it will , would it be easier to have the XV6700 turned on (through Verizon) and change the ESN on the VX8300?
FYI, ESN Cloning is illegal in general and is not allowed to be discussed in any way on HoFo.
However, you can easily switch your phone for free online in My Verizon. (http://www.vzw.com/myverizon) The XV6700 does not require a data plan so just make you turn off all the data connections on it before you switch.

Sorry about that then, I figured since both phones were mine it would be ok.
How do I make sure the data connections are off? I use the WiFi now and don't want to loose that, but have no intention of using any data conections to Verizon. I figured the phone would tell me if it was going to connect to Verizion (or another data source) before it actually did. Is there a way I can be sure this doesn't happen? I just got this phone about a month ago and am still learning a bunch.
Eddie,
When you put the phone on Verizon, tell them to block any data connection. This way your phone will not connect by Verizon. This will not stop your use of Wifi.
I have had this plan on my phone for whole time I have had the phone.
