    Sorry all,

the _teluspolicy.txt file is located at "/bew/obione/" folder.

i used Bitpim to browse the phone to replace it, also i believe QPST EFS explorer will work to

You said you got things working on your phone!

I've replaced the policy file you provided but everytime I move my ringtone or java the just disappear after I boot the phone. Any ideas why?

I used agash's tool and I edit the txt file because they don't look right

(all apps) i found tht it doesnt seem to affect the game section, but for applications on the phone every thing is set to always allow. now i am able to do downloading with my phone. i did get it to download games mp3's and movies traight to memory card. work perfect for me too.

here is a copy of the telus policey file i edited to allow this. just replace this one with the one you have on your phone. restart phone and it will give all apps on your phone full access.

If you want to put the phone onto vibrate for calls, text messages, and voicemails, you can also hold down the * button for three seconds. That's what I do since its the simplest.

How to get customer java apps working

I was able to get the phone to install the Gmail java app

    1. Download the jad maker program from here http://www.softpedia.com/get/Interne...JADMaker.shtml

This will allow you to create a .jad file for a .jar app.

    2. Download the Gmail app from here http://gmail.com/app/v1.5.0/L1/gmail-g.jar

    3. In BitPim go to your brew/mod/jas/index folder and find out what your next available app# is . (Eg. if your last numbered .txt file is 3.txt, then your app will be 4.

    4. Open the jadmaker program and drag the gmail.jar program over it, this will create a .jad file in the same folder on your computer.

    5. Open the new .jad file in wordpad and edit it so it looks like this and save it. Edit the jar url line to your app#. Also note the category is E-mail. You can change this to Games if you prefer. Another category is GPS Services, where you could put an app like GoogleMaps. Another is IM & Chat and TV & Radio

    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.5
    Created-By: 1.5.0_07-b03 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.0
    MIDlet-Name: Gmail
    MIDlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.io.PushRegistry,javax.microedit ion.io.Connector.http,javax.microedition.io.Connec tor.https,javax.microedition.io.Connector.sms,java x.wireless.messaging.sms.receive,javax.wireless.me ssaging.sms.send,javax.microedition.io.Connector.s ocket,javax.microedition.io.Connector.ssl,java.lan g.System.getProperty.MDN,javax.microedition.midlet .MIDlet.platformRequest.tel,javax.microedition.mid let.MIDlet.platformRequest.midlet,javax.microediti on.midlet.MIDlet.platformRequest.http,javax.microe dition.midlet.MIDlet.platformRequest.https

    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 158961
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: 46.jar

    6. Rename both the .jar and .jad files to your next app# (so if your last one is 3.txt in the brew/mod/jas/index folder, you rename the files to 4.jar and 4.jad. If you last entry is 34, then your files are 35.jar and 35.jad)

    7. Now, once all that is done, just open Bitpim and go to the brew/shared/jas/temp/install folder and copy the renamed .jar and .jad files to it. Reboot your phone and if you did everything correctly, you will notice your new Gmail app is listed under your messaging menu

    -------------------------------------------

I have gotten this to work with Google Maps as well, just tailor it to your individual use. You can download the googleMaps app here http://google-maps-for-mobile.en.softonic.com/java

Then, in your new .jad file, edit the folder from E-mail to GPS Services. (Case sensitive) and edit the permissions so it looks like this

    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.5
    Created-By: 1.6.0-b105 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    MIDlet-Vendor: Google
    MIDlet-Version: 2.3.2
    MicroEdition-Configuration: CLDC-1.0
    MIDlet-1: Google Maps, , com.google.googlenav.GoogleNav
    MIDlet-Name: Google Maps
    MIDlet-Permissions: MIDlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.io.Connector.http, javax.microedition.midlet.MIDlet.platformRequest.t el, javax.microedition.location.ProximityListener,java x.microedition.location.Location,java.lang.System. getProperty.SOFTWARE_VERSION
    MicroEdition-Profile: MIDP-2.0
    Folder: GPS Services
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 424906
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: gmaps-232-m2_L1.jar

and put the .jar and .jad in the install folder and it will install it automatically on reboot
