I did mange to get Opera-mini (signed Version) installed on my phoe fine, at first i couldnt get the program to run right, it wouldnt let me access the download feature of opera mini.
but now i have it going fine. i took the telus policy file from my phone and made some changes to it to all access to everything. (all apps) i found tht it doesnt seem to affect the game section, but for applications on the phone every thing is set to always allow. now i am able to do downloading with my phone. i did get it to download games mp3's and movies traight to memory card. work perfect for me too.
here is a copy of the telus policey file i edited to allow this. just replace this one with the one you have on your phone. restart phone and it will give all apps on your phone full access.
If you want to put the phone onto vibrate for calls, text messages, and voicemails, you can also hold down the * button for three seconds. That's what I do since its the simplest.
Does anyone know how I can download my contacts to my computer or to the phones memory card so I can back up my contacts to my computer. Bitpin doesn't cover this model. Thanks
3. In BitPim go to your brew/mod/jas/index folder and find out what your next available app# is . (Eg. if your last numbered .txt file is 3.txt, then your app will be 4.
4. Open the jadmaker program and drag the gmail.jar program over it, this will create a .jad file in the same folder on your computer.
5. Open the new .jad file in wordpad and edit it so it looks like this and save it. Edit the jar url line to your app#. Also note the category is E-mail. You can change this to Games if you prefer. Another category is GPS Services, where you could put an app like GoogleMaps. Another is IM & Chat and TV & Radio
6. Rename both the .jar and .jad files to your next app# (so if your last one is 3.txt in the brew/mod/jas/index folder, you rename the files to 4.jar and 4.jad. If you last entry is 34, then your files are 35.jar and 35.jad)
7. Now, once all that is done, just open Bitpim and go to the brew/shared/jas/temp/install folder and copy the renamed .jar and .jad files to it. Reboot your phone and if you did everything correctly, you will notice your new Gmail app is listed under your messaging menu
