Sorry all, I actually broke my phone last week in a sense, it was a hardware failure of an adapter, so my phone is out of commision right now..hopefully I can get this sorted out and can complete the Java update soon.
Ryan, grab the drivers from the Samsung site, that's all I can suggest at this point, and maybe try some different versions.
greenx, check if the Java Jar/Jad files for it are still on your phone. If not, you should be able to redownload it. What did you do to erase them?
And yeah, I don't suggest adding more than one thing at a time unless you know what you are doing - even so not reconmended because of the way the phone indexes files, getting one wrong could erase all of them it seems.

I looked and my phone has the 2.jar and 4.jar in it.
so idk what I deleted, I never deleted anything though?
But it happened after I had successfully uploaded a ringtone.. then as the phone had the ringtone, it suddenly disappeared with the music app.
Ok I followed the instructions fine when i restart it starts trying to connect for a update and fails then i go to see if the new ringtone is there and its not i load up bitpim and all the custom files are gone. Provider is Telus.
gahhhhhhh
step by step for ringtones and WONT WORK WHAT THE HECK
ok when i am uploading the .dd and .gc files the dd comes up as #.dd.txt and the gc comes as #.gc.mp3
when i restart, no ringtone there
when i plug it into bitpim again, the files are gone?
ok to fix the .gc.mp3 problem u have to turn off hide extensions for known file types so go
controlpanel>folder options click the view tab and uncheck the hide extensions for known file types
thank you ALOT for all this information. This is my first cellphone, and I really needed that information.
I got custom ringtone to work in just a few minutes
BTW: I have a Pay & Talk account with this phone, so on your first page, the information is wrong. And I paid the phone $100 at Staples
I wonder how to make Java apps to work...
Also, when I tried to put a encoded video, the video was stretched weirdly.
