3G is live in Eau Claire, WI and surrounding areas. Appears they are still doing adjusting and testing with it but at least we're seeing some progress up here!

It looks like Berea, KY (40403) just got 3G turned on tonight. Be interesting to see tomorrow morning if the College (40404) or the Bighill area (40405) received it as well. Update:although I'm sure they will be improving performance these next couple weeks, with 3-4 bars service indoors, I'm getting 683kbps down and 62kbps up.

Looks like the entire city limits of Berea, KY (40403) including the College (40404). It's still on EDGE in the Bighill area (40405) and on US421 all the way to Kingston/Bluegrass Army Depot, when it then changes back to 3G.

Was out of town for a couple weeks, but coming back, 3G is now live in Bighill, KY (40405). From what I've gathered att is on a rampage here in kentucky. I wouldn't be surprised if the next network map update had a pretty huge change than previously mapped. Now if only they had 3G in my two other favorite palces: houghton and SSM, michigan

FINALLY, some new 3G turn ups here in NorCal!

    1.Garberville
    2.Redway
    3.Cloverdale
    4.Middletown
    5.Hopland
    6.Yreka
    7.Grenada
    8.Gazelle
    9.Hornbrook
    10.Eagle Lake area
    11.Madeline

    Still to go-

    1.Laytonville
    2.Fort Bragg
    3.Caspar
    4.Mendocino
    5.Chester/Lake Almanor
    6.Alturas

Man, T-Mobile really needs to step up their 3G Game here, they are WAY, WAY behind Verizon, AT&T and USCC, and Verizon and AT&T are already turning up 4G in areas, with USCC to begin later this year or next.

When did those 3G turn ups happen?

I'm not sure, but I checked the map tonight and there they were, so it must have happened within the last few weeks. Of course, AT&T's maps are still wonky, if you zoom in a bit it will show those areas as still being EDGE, zoom out a bit and they become 3G.

Edit-When I went down to Santa Rosa a couple of weeks ago I did notice 3G in Hopland and Cloverdale for the first time, so they must have been turned up this month. I can't personally verify the other towns on there as I haven't been through them lately. Once they get Laytonville, Fort Bragg, Caspar, Mendocino, Chester/Lake Almanor and Alturas 3G they will have finished in NorCal.

They still have way more to go in Southern Illinois. At this pace, Verizon will have LTE everywhere while AT&T will still have dead spots with EDGE.

Mt. Vernon still being on EDGE with a population of 17,000 and access to two interstates is both sad and pathetic.

Sparta, Pinckneyville, Nashville, DuQuoin, Mt. Vernon, Harrisburg, Anna, Jonesboro, Vienna, and Cairo are still EDGE. Sounds like NorCal almost. Granted AT&T took over the crappy SunCom network here but given there isn't any competitor other than Verizon in those areas, people in the areas I mention are legitimately suffering because of the lack of choice. Don't even get me into the jokes that Sprint and Smalltel (ATNI) are here, Sprint's coverage is a joke and ATNI/Commnet has had serious technical issues since the takeover of the divested Alltel property here.

Fiber backhaul for Verizon in Southern Illinois in 2013 - about time.

In our RSA (Rural Service Area), 344, which consists solely of Mendocino and Lake Counties Sprint has ONE, TEENY site in Lake County near Lakeport, and it's a pretty pathetic spat of coverage. Other than that pretty minor blip, there is no Sprint service between Cloverdale in Sonoma County and Eureka in Humboldt County, a distance of 200 miles, Sprint roams on USCC and VZ here.

Milton, Georgia, Fairfax, St. johnsbury, Lyndon, and Newport VT all have 3G. It looks like US 7 and I-89 in its entirety is covered with 3G. I-91 is looking sharp. Keep up with the upgrades at&t to cover the remaining parts and deploy the 4G in Vermont.

As of this map, they still have some to do here in NorCal- Fort Bragg, Caspar, Mendocino, Laytonville, Orick, Lakehead, Alturas, Tulelake, Etna, Fort Jones, Crescent Mills, Greenville and Chester/Lake Almanor. It is nice now though, I get pretty much solid 3G from here south into the Bay area, and east (except for the HUGE, 35 mile cell dead spot between Clearlake Oaks and Williams) to the Sacramento Valley, and north to Redding and Chico. Speaking of the Bay Area, their 3G is more like 2G there, yes, it's that bad, I get better speeds up here.

If I had to list all the towns in Southern Illinois (South of I-64 is roughly equal to Mendocino County) that haven't got HSPA yet, I would be typing too long.

Lol Well I would be too for NorCal, but those are the towns with at least a few hundred people We do have a lot more Wilderness, National Forests, National Parks and remote areas than Illinois though, so a lot of NorCal has little to no population.

Can't be any more PATHETIC as Sprint is here. What &^%$(^^(^( to put up a 40ft tower that covers maybe 1 mile. How stupid is Sprint? I know Nextels are bricks where you are but here, Nextel fully covers our area though but they are too pathetic and cheap to co-locate (how many years since the merger).

See, I'm in a similar situation. Sprint covers Chester but only half the town before you start roaming on Alltel. Go to the other areas of Southern Illinois, and native coverage is non-existent. However they have an ace in the hole here, which is 3G roaming on Alltel. Sprint had a store in Carbondale but they closed it.

However, Sprint has contracted with a rural partner here to accelerate buildout. It could be that they believe this is a rural area where they can succeed. Without strong competition in the area for Verizon, they could do well by offering unlimited data.
