The town of Henderson/Chester Co. in west Tennessee is live, this a recent development because two weeks ago it was still EDGE like the rest of the area. I'm about 20 miles South and still EDGE. The the town of Jackson in Madison Co. is about 15 miles North is also still EDGE even tho it's a much bigger metro area. Anyway I'm hopeing this is a good sign of things to come. How exactly do that activate and area, do they light it up all a t once or small sections at a time? I've got my fingers crossed.
I work in a metal bldg. My office is in a cinder block interior area. I usually only had 2 or 3 bars, now I have full bars, so I would think it might be 850.
i've been in Jackson all day. 3G is awesome. i never thought it was a big deal since i'd never experienced it. Its about 15 miles from me now' hopefully Ill have it soon.

Experiencing 3G is like moving from dial-up to broadband Internet at home. Everyone who has dial-up says they "don't need" broadband until they experience it. And like broadband, once you have it, it's nearly impossible to go back.
Havelock is definitely running, I was there a week ago, passing through on the way to Atlantic Beach from Greenville, and there was 3G in Havelock. Still pathetic that we don't have it over in Greenville though... but Havelock is probably because of some DoD contract.
Any word on when 3g might go active in the Lehighton, PA area (zip code 18235)? I'm sick and tired of the AT&T employees lying about it! They've been telling customers that it would go active "within a month or 2" almost since AT&T started the initial roll-out!
