gaww, could you post any issues you find on the pharos forums? That SIM wiping sounds like a big one to me. As others get the device we can also confirm any bugs found but we should start bringing issues to Pharos' attention as soon as we can. Thanks.

SPB Mobile Shell does come on the disc so you can re-install, correct? Additionally I'm really interested in the feel of the onscreen keyboard, and the volume and clarity of the speakerphone. Any opinions on those 2 things yet?

    Thanks

No - just using internet sharing right now.

Not really - the SIM and SD are slightly below the level of the top of the battery. You might be able to bend them as you pull them out - BUT...

    how about battery life ?
it looks like having more powerful battery than any HTC's.
I much more concern about battery life and speed (internet 3G , GPS etc)
T-Mobile - the largest fake 4G network in Americas

    HTC HD2 Speed on 3G/HSDPA

    T-mobile 3G/H or Pharos 137

    My broadband speed

My WM phone is the best GPS now, say good bye junk Andriod

It has been connected to the laptop so much, I cannot tell yet. I had it disconnected all night on standby and did not put a dent in the battery.

The test will be when I start pulling up animated weather radar, using the GPs, etc. My Memoir (which may soon be heading to eBay) runs down Farly quick when I use it that way, so I am hoping for better life - will post.

it's gonna be a hassle to transfer files to and from phone, though I can do alternate method
USB mass storage (or use WM5torage)
    bt OBEX
but these method are slow, not good for transfer large files (more than 50MB)

    this is an interesting request
install slingplayer mobile, and run it (you don't have to have slingbox, will explain below)
when you run after first time installation, it does prompt to enter register code, but a few models doesn't
may you install slingplayer and see what happens, because I have slingbox

I had tried internet sharing yesterday with no luck - but today - CONNECTED! I am responding to this tethered to my laptop.

I have not been able to try 3G as I am western NC and TMo has no 3G here (nor anywhere in the state I believe). I will be back in 3G area next Thursday.

NOTE for all users - do not do a factory reset with the SIM car in - it wipes it also (maybe there is a setting somewhere to prevent that...). I had to put the card in old device and copy phone contacs back over - no big thing.

It had started acting odd (including pown loading hundreds of "reminders" all dated for 12/25/09?), so I did the reset.
this is not a big deal for me, as long as I have async installed, and contacts shared among phones, computers, and PDAs, I only leave some "critical numbers" on SIM
it looks like I am 100% set, so long, HTC Tungsten
    but how about reception?
even though you don't have 3G reception at this time

    one last thing:
can you use HTC headphones adapter on this?
I bought 2 of them for G1 or TP II, but I am unsure on Pharos
if so, I can even buy wired stereo headset for HTC phone

I emailed amazon and pharos about the discrepancy on amazon's website for the release date compared to expansys...

    edit:

    Amazon's response
Thanks for writing to us at Amazon.com.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Our latest information indicates that "Pharos Traveler 137 GPS Smartphone (Black)" has not yet been released and the expected release date is not known. As soon as a release date has been determined for this item, we will add that information to our website.

I understand that "expansys-usa" clearly stated that item has released on June 16, 2009. I have forwarded this information to our marketing department and they will take necessary actions to this fixed as soon as possible.

I am on the road, so a lot of the things I want to try will have to wait unlil latter next week.

I just saw a disturbing note on the Pharos forum from Pharos support. They keep maintaining that 6.5 will NOT be made available. This in spite of their own press release.
