What is wrong with the Sidekick? I have a friend who just turned 25, and she loves her SK. I helped her pick one out. She didn't want something super expensive, and found a great deal on Craigslist.
Well im 60 was using the sidekickslide untill a few day ago. The tracball don't work. Sidekicks are good for older people to text and email because of bigger keyboard.
The sidekick is actually a really good device. If you think about it, sidekicks had an app store before the iPhone was even thought of. It is just marketed to teens because the phone is built around texting and im's and who uses those features more than teens? I actually went back to the sidekick 2008 from the iPhone 3G. Sure the hardware sucks but the Danger OS is probably the best OS a qwerty phone can have. But I just turned 19 so i can't speak for the old people.
How about a 60 year old using a SK 2 and a 70 year old using an LX? The SK is a great email and messaging device even though it's a death machine for anyone wanting to take or place a call while driving. I suspect lots of hearing impaired people use SKs as well, regardless of age.
I am barely over 25 (26) and honestly have a blue Lx. The thing never leaves my side.
I work in an office and have Blackberry 8800 for work. The LX keyboard and screen is awesome, but really the $20 a month is the reason I'm still with it.
The phone is functional and definately original. True about being an accident just waiting to happen if your driving and dialing.
Overall though if they offered another device that had unlimited texting and internet with a decent keyboard for the price I pay a month under 50 with a voice plan and my work discount I would seriously think about leaving.
With that said, other than the fact that the damn thing lights up like a christmas (can i say that? or do I have to put holiday?) tree when I get a text or e-mail the phone works. I like it better than the Blackberry that I have.
When our 5 powers combine, we summon Earth's greatest champion: Captain Planet. Driver picks the music. Shotgun shuts his cakehole.
I'm 41 and my Slide never leave me, either. Of course, being deaf kind of limits the phone I can use and the Sidekick has everything I need (web, texting, and 2 built in relay programs).
Proud to be named the 13th man for the Vermont Frost Heaves, for their home game on 2-16-2007 against the Maryland Nighthawks.
Our feedback about Verizon Wireless agents as Verizon Wireless Prepay customers is: they are pointless to us.
Just recently retired my Sidekick LX (because of confusion between me and the carrier and them pulling my plan off and couldn't get it back) but I must say, it was one of the best phones ive used. Impressed all my friends with it considering no one, and i mean no one, has it in Canada. or atleast at my school. I'm 16 so I guess it was a good phone for me got a Blackberry Bold though, I'm sure gunna miss the amazingly large screen and the crazy swivel/flip screen. Oh well...
